Hi everyone,

Just wondering if this could possibly be a pregnancy symptom? I find myself constantly needing to clear my throat. I had a bad cough and cold about a month ago but this symptom is still here so don't know if it was connected with the cough or a symptom of pregnancy. I'm sixteen weeks if that makes any difference.

ThanksSmile

I was about to come on here and ask the same thing! I'm 6 weeks, and my throat is being really weird. I've lost my voice today, and keep clearing my throat, but don't feel ill or like I'm catching a cold/flu. Maybe it is a symptom!

I've had a cough/sore throat throughout pregnancy now 38 weeks... Not sure if this helps or not.

I've been thinking this. I've had horrible phlegm for months. Hoping it'll all be over soon!

Me too, needing to clear throat constantly and voice had gone quite nasally! I just generally feel very mucousy, even though I only really had a mild cold before Christmas. I'm not coughing all the time but I wake up most nights with a really hacking coughing fit. Like I'm trying to get rid of the junk. Apparently more mucous is a symptom. Oh the joys!

Me too. Keep waking in the night feeling like I’m choking. Clearing my throat constantly and losing my voice temporarily. I’m 14 weeks and it’s still happening 🙈

It’s quite common in pregnancy I think to have more mucous in the nasal passages, and this could be dripping down into your throat slowly! Hence the coughing !
