Sorry tmi! Had an orgasm this morning and just been for wee and wiped red blood!
I am terrified 😭 I'm 11 + 3 weeks.
Had two previous miscarriages.

Please don’t worry! It is quite normal for this to happen and it is probably because the blood vessels in that area are more enlarged and sensitive due to your pregnancy that the contractions from your orgasm have caused some to break and bleed. If it is just a small amount and you have no other cramping going on then I would relax and try not to be concerned. Alternatively call your midwife to have a quick checkup but honestly this is something that pregnancy books sometimes warn you about when you have sex or an orgasm. Generally unless you have a high risk pregnancy or other issues with your health then sex and orgasms throughout your pregnancy are absolutely safe and in fact can be helpful since they bring more blood to that area. Xx

Do you mean after sex or something else? Bleeding after sex is very common, the orgasm as nothing to do with it. But given your history you might want to call your epu.

Go to the hospital and get checked

cloclo92 · 12/01/2020 12:59

It wasn't sex.
Slightly embarrassed but just clit masterbation. So nothing inserted.
Seems to have stopped now. Just red blood after I weed for the first time.

I feel so guilty now and I wish I could turn back time 😭

I bled after sex in this pregnancy, was diagnosed with a low lying placenta at 20 weeks and given a sex until it resolved at 32 weeks.

StealthMama · 12/01/2020 14:02

If it wasn't sex then masturbation wouldn't cause bleeding. Monitor it but I'd be inclined to call the epu for a check.

I had a dream orgasm (my one and only dream one!) when I was pregnant with dd and had bleeding the next day. I think I read that orgasming can cause bleeding.

Been to a&e as I pleased a brown clot. Totally freaked me out.
They were pretty useless. Can't get scan until Tuesday 😔

I have had a similar experience, a small amount of blood a day or two after orgasm and I have also passed some clots that look a bit like liver but the size of a prawn.
And EPU were not very helpful, they have no scanning facilities at the weekend, and told me to phone back if the bleeding increased. I’m going for my 12 week scan anyway tomorrow - I’m trying not to think about it and just hoping it’ll be ok.

bb2605 · 12/01/2020 19:48

@cloclo92 brown blood is old blood so it’s likely some that didn’t come out the first time you went to the toilet. If you are not cramping and have no more blood then try to relax until Tuesday chances are that it was completely normal. I know it must be very, very hard not to worry especially with your history but stressing yourself about it will only be detrimental. Sending you big hugs xx

That's great news, I've been wondering how you got on.

bb2605 · 14/01/2020 12:51

@cloclo92 fantastic news!! Always so lovely to see them wriggling around in there and please, please don't continue to feel guilty about what happened, it's very unlikely to cause any damage unless you have a high risk pregnancy to begin with. Enjoy the next few months with a wriggly little bean! :-D xx

Hi @cloclo96 I know just how scary seeing blood is! Last night after intercourse I got up and realised that I was in a puddle of blood. Both myself and DH were terrified. There were small clots and the bleed was rather heavy and filled a liner pad in just a few mins. We rushed to the hospital as I’m 11 weeks had previous spotting but not bright red blood like this. I was examined by the doctor who said that my uterus looked abit angry and red and that this is where the bleed was actually coming from and baby was tucked away safely being protected by the plug which was in place. She said bleed is due to sensitive vessels which are now prone to bleeding and small tears. I have very slight spotting today but nothing like yesterday so I know it is beyond stressful but think positive and no harm in getting checked. Hope everything is okay. Sending hugs xxx
