I'm 20 weeks and I only get up once in the night if that and thats only when I lie awake worrying that my full bladder is going to squah the baby. I am noty peeing as much as I thought I would, anyone else like this?

27+2 here and wee once or twice during the night

teenyweeny · 29/08/2007 13:06

I'm 19+3 was going twice per night up until about a week ago, now I'm getting through the night, strange, I also expected to be going more

fluffyanimal · 29/08/2007 13:07

Your full bladder will not squash the baby, it's the other way around!

honey2theb · 29/08/2007 13:08

im 39 weeks and up about 6 times a night!! it only got this bad recently though up until about 30ish weeks i only got up once, sometimes not even once.

meandmy · 29/08/2007 13:10

I never used to then whilst pg would go every cpl hours and take ages to get comfi when i returned to a cold bed

LilyLoo · 29/08/2007 13:13

21 weeks and up once or twice

bluebell82 · 29/08/2007 13:15

good to hear it is mixed. I was owrried I wasn't weeing enough! I have been drinking sparkling mineral water like a fish and lots of decaf tea so I mustbe holding onto the fluid!

I'm 27+1 and get up at least twice a night!!

Naetha · 29/08/2007 13:48

I average between 2 and 3 times a night depending on how much I've drunk before going to bed.

Gets a bit frustrating at times, but I don't usually have a problem getting back to sleep afterwards so its all OK at the minute

Having said that, I'm only at 23 weeks so I'd imagine its gonna get a hell of a lot worse!

karenLouise · 29/08/2007 13:51

I'm 20+6 and I get up once in the night if at all some nights when I'm lucky!

chopster · 29/08/2007 13:53

Once the baby gets a bit bigger, then the baby will be squashing your bladder and you will be weeing lots! I ended up with a bucket in the spare room with my first

Scampynoodle · 29/08/2007 14:40

I average four times a night and I'm 19 weeks. I reckon it's because I'm not sleeping properly so when I feel like a wee I have one straight away to help me get back to sleep. If I was spark out I'd probably only wee once when I was busting enough for it to wake me up.

I'm still pretty much at the starting gate (9 weeks 4 days). Sometimes it's twice a night, other times hardly at all

beller · 29/08/2007 15:13

23 weeks and up 2-3 times a night , can usually get back to sleep ok, but not all the time..does vary though x

Hurlyburly · 29/08/2007 15:24

DH does. Every night. Perhaps he is pregnant.

designerbaby · 29/08/2007 15:26

Hi Bluebelll... I might have to remind you that you posted this in 10-15 weeks or so!

For goodness sake, don't worry about it - enjoy it while you can !

It most probably won't last. Apparently the middle trimester is supposedly the best of the three regarding urinary frequency...

And don't worry about your full bladder squishing you little one - he/she and your body collude from now on to ensure that the only one who suffers is you!

If they're anything like my LO, pretty soon they'll be headbutting and bouncing up and down on your nice full bladder (which by that time will only be the approximate size of a walnut) the minute it thinks baout encroaching on their territory in any way... bless...

I´m 35+3 and I only get up once per night. I drink lots during the day but try not to drink much a couple of hours before I go to bed. And don´t worry, the bladder won´t squash your baby

MrsMcJnr · 29/08/2007 16:34

Hey Bluebell - not seen you on the AN thread for a while! how are you?

I wouldn't even get up once but DH has started doing it and wakes me up and then I do need to go I'm 20 weeks too

I drink loads - probably about 5 litres a day, I get so thirsty.

Holly29 · 29/08/2007 17:10

I'm 35+6 and I get up once a night, but to be honest I think that's because I restrict drinking in the hours before bed... and it also depends on how the wee one is lying. It goes in phases - a few weeks ago it was 3 times a night!

cazzybabs · 29/08/2007 17:25

Yes at least once.

But bluebell82 it could be how you are carrying the baby or simply or you are not drinking water late at night.

spugs · 29/08/2007 19:16

im 11 weeks and i get up at least once, i live in a terraced house as well with the toilet downstairs at the back!! pain in the bum or what!

with dd2 i was up and down constantly and i can remember one of the first things i realised after i had her was how nice it was not to need to have a wee constantly. dont think my bladder ever recovered completly though - must do pelvic floor excercises

MrsMar · 29/08/2007 19:20

currently getting up every 2 hours (unless I'm so tired I'm comatose, but then I wake up absolutely busting!), it's making me pretty tired but then I've only got three more weeks of this! YAY!

maxbear · 29/08/2007 19:38

ds is 6months now sleeping through. I however don't as I have to get up and pee at least once. Not a consequence of preg have just always needed to wee in the night. Much better than when pregnant as I had to wee about every hour or two overnight. Probably related partly to the insomnia that I had from pretty much conception until birth. Oh the joys of pregnancy. For the first time in my life I am not feeling broody. Now...did I take my pill this morning?!?
