I'm 33+4 and last night coukdntsleep due to painful tightenings. Like bad cramps. Paracetamol did nothing. It eases when I'm up and turns to a constant ache. But I feel heavy and keep needing a poo. I've had alot of braxton hicks over the last month so now finding it hard to tell the difference

Sounds like BH but if ever In doubt give triage a call they may want to check you out.

My favourite go to for ‘is this IT?!’ was...when you change position do they carry on going? So get up, walk around and if they go, they are Braxton hicks. If they continue try a few other positions, measure how far apart they are and call your MAU if they carry on.

Oh I'm having this :(

I'm 38 + 5 and for the last few days every evening when I settle down for the night I'm sure I'm going into labour! Obviously they must be braxton hicks but they are very convincing.

Didn't have this with my other pregnancies; with DD I knew straight away they were contractions but these are also very convincing and people labour differently, even over different pregnancies.

Everyday 4pm onwards I get BH.. I can't eat otherwise I'm projectile vomiting and just feel so unwell with acid reflux and my stomach feelin so hard. I did go to my triage twice as I was worried about the spasms and was reassured, it is horrid but nothing to worry about

I had this and still am. I went in hospital for RFM and found on off chance I'm 2cm dilated 1cm cervix 36 weeks. It does sound like BH as they CAN get very painful the further on you go, I'm still waiting for my bean to come 36+4 now, still getting painful BH.

Best advice is phone midwife and see what she says, the probability is bh but it doesn't hurt to double check ❤

Thanks everyone. I did ring as I felt awful. They checked me over and although my tightenings are regular and painful, it is BH. They also said it sounds like I've got SPD. My blood pressure is very low which unfortunately I do get but was at its lowest at 91/57
Been told to rest for a few days. I'm just off my food all the time as I feel sick which doesn't help. And with an active 2 year old it's a bit tricky lol
