Some Nursing Bra Questions

Wondering how early or late in your pregnancy did you pack away your regular bras and switch to wearing a nursing bra? Compared to your previously worn regular bras, how did you find the nursing bras you bought were for comfort and fit and especially for support and the appearance and shape they gave you, under your clothes? What ended up being your favourite brand and style of nursing bra? Are there any that you had that you really didn’t like and wouldn't recommend?

Didn’t switch over til after I popped both times and I loved ASOS bras!

I sized up my regular underwire bras around 5mo. Then only wore nursing bras with the clips once the baby arrived. Didn't like them tho, couldn't wait to get back to real bras.

Nice and soft and comfortable and give a good shape under clothes. I only switched to these once my babies arrived as preferred stretchy sports bras in the later stages of pregnancy.

Not enough support or separation. I was a sweaty mess for 15mo of feeding each kiddo. So uncomfortable.

I wore the stretchy sports bra type till a couple of weeks after the baby was born when I was sure I would be bf for a while. I didn’t want to buy nursing bras then end up bottle feeding.

I hate them, thinking of trying to stick to normal bras this time, I know it'll will be a faff and a bit awkward. But I have big boobs and having them turned into a massive sweaty shelf on my front for months didn't help me feel like anything other than a milking machine.

Sorry to hijack post but, are there any nursing bras that give enough support for sport? I can see a lot of faff with changing bras in my future

I bought the soft nursing bra but hated them - they give you an awful shape and make you look a fat frumpy mum.
I tried padded and underwired nursing bras which looked great but are uncomfortable when you swell up with milk.

I settled on a regular soft cup underwired bra - looks good to good support and comfy with easy acsess.

I've worn Molke bras throughout pregnancy after starting wearing them for breastfeeding DD1. Will continue to wear forever as just so comfortable and give a much better shape than other non wired bras.

I was lucky that my breasts didn't change size much during pregnancy (they're big to begin with)
With my first pregnancy I didnt wear nursing bras until just before the baby was born, but I didnt have much luck. I found the fact that they weren't underwire meant they didnt support at all and generally looked saggy. I wore them for about 6 months and then just went back to my normal bras and popped a boob over the top when I needed to feed.

This time round (I'm 30 weeks now) I have bought a few Molke bras on a friends recommendation and they are so much more comfortable than any underwire or nursing bra I have used. They are suitable for normal use and also for breastfeeding but dont have stupid little clips that break or come undone. They have different levels of "stretch" in the material so after baby is born I will probably buy a couple in the softer fabrics for sleeping in.

I spent ages trawling the shops trying to find a well fitting nursing bra. Tried Marks (no luck as very few large cups sizes) and all the usual department stores. Then, on Boob Or Bust forum found the Nursing Bra Shop....OMG The range is huge. The first order was around a day late, but still turned up within 2 days. Can recommend the Royce Blossom bra but there are loads of options www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk/ . Also tried Molke but no good for me

Im only 8 weeks for had to switch already as my boobs have already grown a cup or two! I didnt want to buy a nursing bra though so i googled maternity bra and found an amazing one on the asda website. It's so comfortable, great support, affordable and looks nice in my opinion. Iv had my baby and im breast feeding i have 2 they are not great so i just use them for bedtime & my normal for daytime,i just couldnt find one in my size that was my type.

can second the nursing bra shop....loads of long descriptions of each bra which made it easier to pick the right ones. Having said that - 1 had to go back! But the other was incredible. The range was a bit like Bravisimo and figleaves but cheaper
