Anyone got experience of PGP

I've had a pain/ache in my groin for the last week.

After some googling I think it could be PGP. I suffer with hyper mobility pre-pregnancy.

Has anyone got any experience with PGP? If so any advice?

Go to the pelvic partnership website. Get a good pregnancy osteopath (must be one trained for pregnancy issues). A list can be found on the pelvic partnership website.

Rest rest rest.

You have my sympathies!

@physicskate have you suffered with it?

I'm only self diagnosing here. I basically feel like I've been kicked in the fanny. Does that sound about right?

I've got pain in the section that I've circled in purple. Like my actual joints.

Yes sounds like symphysis pubis , I have the same
Get a referral to physio if possible but be aware my referral letter came after DS was born so maybe go private if you can afford

@happychange I already go to a chiropractor (my husband works there doing sports massages), and I'm due to go tomorrow. So I've messaged her this morning. Hopefully she can help.

I'm only 14 weeks so this is going to be a very long pregnancy 😭

Oh gosh you have my sympathies! This is my 2nd pregnancy and my PGP started much earlier too , it's agony especially when I am walking around a lot Sad

@happychange I'm going to krakow for a week this time next month which should be interesting (booked pre-pregnancy)

I had this quite badly in my last pregnancy, the only real consolation is it does go away as soon as you’ve given birth (well, mine did). I think if your baby is bigger you’re more likely to have PGP, you need to rest. I found yoga super helpful also!

Mine often felt like a swift kick in the crotch. And yes, mine started around 11/12 weeks... first pregnancy.

Physio did nothing for me (she was like - here are your crutches, off you pop).

Again, the chiropractor should not just be a general, but a pregnancy specific one (or trained for issues in pregnancy).

It will get better and with early intervention it hopefully won't get worse.

I had this with my second pregnancy 10 years ago. You have my sympathies, it's so painful. I had physio which didn't really help much but it did go as soon as I had my baby. Don't overdo things, one of the only things I remember working is a carrier bag on the seat of the car so I could 'swivel' out of my seat. Take care x
