Not in pregnancy but I'm going through the menopause and I get them.

Boymummy3 · 11/01/2020 20:44

Yeah in the early stages I actually read it can be normal

Bol87 · 11/01/2020 20:45

Yes. Mine was caused by anaemia. Get your iron levels checked. Easily resolved if your levels are low!

Engard · 11/01/2020 21:00

Yes, I ended up in hospital at 33 weeks because of them. They put it down to dehydration.

NishaaS123 · 11/01/2020 22:11

Yes I get them occasionally aswell

Hodge85 · 11/01/2020 22:19

I get them a lot but that's due to my thyroid levels. I had a Total Thyroidectomy last year so they need to monitor my medication throughout pregnancy. Even though I know what causes them they're still unnerving :(

I had quite a bit the first 4-5 months, but not so much lately. I read that it can be down to iron deficiency so I started taking a pregnancy supplement that contains iron and haven't had them much since, although I don't know if it's related or just coincidence.

I have, told midwife and she wasn't concerned but also found out at that appointment that I was a bit anaemic. Keep taking pregnancy vitamins in case its that, if its happening a lot might be worth speaking to your midwife.
