I woke up in the night feeling like I was going to puke and in a cold sweat. Eventually passed but it was HORRIBLE. Still feeling distinctly queasy this morning. I'm having a dry biscuit now...anything else I can nibble on? I really thought I might get away with it, was only saying yesterday I wasn't feeling sick. (I'm 6+1) Last night felt like a stomach upset.

*Keep a supply of sweets and snacks in your handbag (get a bigger handbag if need be!). Also cans of 7up or other sugary non-sweetener non-caffeine fizz. I found the nausea was hunger-related and needed to eat something carby every hour to ward off the worst sudden attacks.
*In the morning, drink a sacrificial glass of water to throw up, then try a sugary (non-sweetener) squash. That way, if you can keep just a little down, at least it will give you some energy.
*Don't take preg vitamins on an empty stomach, they are the most revolting thing you can vomit up!
*If you're actually throwing up, try and do it just before a meal so you have more chance of keeping it down.

I've also heard eationg more salt helps too, stops you getting dehydrated.

i'm 9 weeks and my sickness seems to have gone today, so you never know it might not last for 12 weeks.
I'd say listen to your body. Mine could not stomach anything sweet or sugary while I was desperate for salty things, lots of veg and crackers. do not leave your stomach empty if you can, that's a killer.

good luck.

Don't want to frighten you but I thought you were supposed to worry if symptoms stop?

PippiLangstrump · 07/09/2007 20:04

I know I know. It's either a good or a bad thing. But TBH all the other symptoms are there, just the sickness is not as bad. I will keep an eye on it though, just don't want to get too paranoid just yet.

oh and thanks though.
