Hi! I'm due April 21 2020 and I'm just looking to see how ready everyone is and whether there's anything we can each list that we may have forgotten that could help someone else out! So how much have you prepared so far?

I've started on the nursery (we painted it yesterday, put up the crib, the nursing chair and some drawers) but we still have to decorate in there and put another chest of drawers up.

I've bought lots of outfits but definitely not enough for what he'll actually be in throughout the first few weeks and I need bits like cot sheets, blankets, bottles, sterilizers, dummies... I can't even think what else!

I also need to get the pram and a next to me crib, and I'm thinking about possibly getting a cheap moses basket from Asda for when he naps downstairs.

Ooh I also have the bouncer, a mat with a mobile on it and changing mat!

Please remind me what else I need to get and let me know how you're getting on! 14 weeks 4 days to go!

Due 29th.

I just started to do my hospital bag as I went earlier my 2nd and third for different reasons.

I didn't buy anything yet as I have some stuff from my last one( toys, muslins, bibs, some bottles in case I need them for expressed milk, breast pump, breastfeeding pillow, sleeping sacks, car seat, blankets and some other stuff I can't remember).

I'm going to take as much stuff as I need from a friend( clothes and whatever else).

I plan maybe to buy a second hand tandem pram but we'll wait until baby comes to see if I actually need it. Have already my DD's pushchair that it's good for newborn too.

That's all I think. I'm not gonna worry too much until next month or March, as I can sort things out really quickly when motivated.

Hi,
I'm due 29th April...I have only ordered a pram and bought some small bits. My SIL had a baby three months ago so plan to go through some neutral bits tonight!
I have so much to do, though maybe a bit too chilled!

Due 13th April.

We've been given loads of stuff so we have lots. (Feeling very overwhelmed by it all!)

Found out our babe has talipes so we've been researching and buying some bits, as they suggest slightly different clothing to help during the treatment process.

It just feels so far away still until we get to meet them!

I'm due April 1st and have basically everything I need apart from a couple hospital bag items. I'm planning on putting the the dresser and cot soon but got all the essentials. I'm so excited I just want my little boy here now! 11 weeks and counting.

elb1504 · 10/01/2020 19:35

I'm due 7th April and have a Snuzpod that's about it haha! Need to get a move on maybe!

APD1981 · 10/01/2020 19:36

OP I'm not due til beginning of June but I've just been to Aldi as they have a baby event on and you can get almost everything you've said you need on your list at a really good price there. I just bought 2 changing mats for £3.99 each! They also have bedding for cot beds, moses baskets, next to me cribs, bath stuff, Tommie Tippee bottles, dummies etc. Definitely worth a look!

Caspianberg · 11/01/2020 14:58

Due 30th April, haven't bought anything big yet. Bought a hat today... Feeling pretty unprepared tbh.
But will be ordering ost of the larger items by the end of the month which should give plenty of time.

Mummylanie3 · 11/01/2020 15:44

I'm due 29th but will be having a section around 39 weeks think I've got about everything just need bedding and toiletries and that's it

mumma2b2020 · 11/01/2020 17:18

I'm due 1st April and have pretty much everything sorted apart from hospital bag. Just want her here now!

abbs1 · 11/01/2020 17:22

@mumma2be2020 when do you reckon you will pack your hospital bag? I've got nearly all my stuff for it but haven't organised or packed it yet. Also need to set up the cot and dresser but will do that over the coming week.
My DH and I just want our little boy here now! I'm so impatient. Been such a long draining and difficult pregnancy I just want it over and done and my little boy in my arms.

Roseinbloom20 · 11/01/2020 17:28

I'm due DS2 on the 22nd and already have all the "big" things from DS1 but we did buy a new Moses basket in the Mothercare sale as our first one wasn't that great. Other things we need new as we got rid of the old ones (buy cheap buy twice 🙄) are a steriliser, breast pump and bottles and changing mat. I've picked up a few new babygrows in the sales because I wanted him to have some new things and not just hand me downs. One task I have to do and putting off is washing all of DS1s old clothes - literally boxes of baby clothes, muslin cloths and bibs that all need a good wash so that's my biggest job that I'll spread out over the next few weeks.

Babyg1995 · 11/01/2020 18:43

I'm due April 3rd just the crib and blankets and sheets to get would also like a Moses basket for down stairs need to get everything for hospital bag as well.

mumma2b2020 · 12/01/2020 09:21

@abbs1 I would like to get it done jn the next few weeks so it's sorted and not hanging over me! What about you? What have you got already? Ahh sorry to hear it's been a difficult pregnancy - won't be long until he is here! x

abbs1 · 12/01/2020 21:23

@mummatobe2020 I got his dresser put up today and will put his cot up in the next couple weeks. I need to sort through and wash all his clothes and get them organised and get my last bits for my hospital bag and pack that but other than that I'm all done and ready. I'm bit organise and plan crazy so I like to be prepared well ahead of time.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 12/01/2020 22:40

I’m due on 4th April. I’m feeling a little less prepared reading all of these.

I know how we want to decorate the nursery but not started yet. Know where we are order furniture from but not order yet. We do have:
Pram and car seat on order can collect whenever
Next to me crib
Newborn and 0-3 clothes
Sleepyhead
Baby bath
Swing
Prep machine
Bottles
Dummies
Some wipes
Some blankets.

We’ve been gifted quite a bit which has been lucky. Haven’t even thought about hospital bag yet!!!
