EArly scan surprise

Hi all I posted early in the week about being anxious so booked in for an early scan . It was today. By my lmp I was 7weeks2days but I’m
Pretty sure I know when I ovulated 7th Dec so by my dates I will was 6weeks 5 days today , cycle usually 31/32 days. Today at the scan they measured me at exactly 6weeks, size 3.2mm/cm?! Not sure which. That’s quite a big difference from the lmp date and also from my own ovulation date. We did see a heart beat so that was positive but I can’t help be anxious thinking the baby is a week behind and therefore doesn’t bode well.Anyone ever been in a similar situation - positive or neg outcome welcome. Just don’t want to get too excited yet and the anxiety hasn’t reduced from having the scan. Thanks so much

According to my last period I would have been due about 8 days earlier than they measured. I'm 36 weeks now, all is fine :)

They’re measuring something in two dimensions that is actually three dimensional and only 3mm in size! It’s not that accurate and a 5 day discrepancy is nothing to worry about.

Had a scan at 7 weeks and was told was measuring 5+ weeks. Saw heartbeat.

At my dating scan baby was measuring shy of 3 days in relation to my EDD, so early scan wasn't accurate on measurements.

Try not to worry. Heartbeat is good, and your dating scan will be the one that will measure baby properly.

Our jelly bean measured 9 days smaller than my LMP dates at our early scan but I know I have long cycles and ovulated late.
I've since been back for a follow up scan and baby has grown proportionately in that time so I'm not worried.
Heard a strong heart beat both times x

Thanks ladies your comments have helped reassured me! In our area the first scan is suppose to be 12 weeks but current waiting lists mean it’s nearer 14weeks so still ages to go until then! Was a private scan today!
