Period type pains before labour?

Hi all
I'm 37+2 for the last few days I've had painful period type pains in my lower abdomen.
Anyone have any experience of this? Could it mean labour is approaching and if so, how long until?

That was the start of labour for me.

Yes, that's how I knew I was in labour.

following this thread. Im pregnant with my 1st and ive often wondering how i'll know

niceberg · 09/01/2020 21:59

That's exactly how it started for me too.

Time-wise, it was about 12 hours from period pains to birth for my first. Relatively fast I think.

Im 30 weeks and its absolutely terrifying to think that the baby could be coming soon! 30 weeks vs 37 weeks sound worryingly close!

I had about a day and a half of these pains before labour with 1 of my pregnancies..

Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 I've got another 3 days at work and could really do with not going back 😅

My first sign of labour too. I started googling 'period pains late labour' at about half nine, then my waters broker at 2.

Yes. Same for me. 4 hours later, there was DD!
