Hi just after some advise as this is my first pregnancy and I'm a bit confused. I've been getting acid reflux and waves of nausea since 5 weeks. I'm 7 weeks now and the last 4 days I've not been able to move out of bed without feeling sick. I've only actually been sick twice. The nausea is constant and so bad I had to go home from work as I felt like I was going to pass out. I've been sipping on water and eating a bit of toast and fruit but any food seems to make my stomach feel worse. I've had horrible stabbing pains in my stomach today. So I'm just a bit confused if this is pregnancy nausea symptoms or is it a stomach acid thing. Just to mention I've had problems with excess stomach acid previously and it was just today that it twigged some of the tenderness in my stomach feels kind of the same.

You sound exactly like me . I’m 7 weeks this weekend but since 4 weeks I’ve had nausea and vomiting . It’s got worse as the weeks have gone on and I went to the drs today as I could hardly move out of bed . He said my throat is all burned from acid and he’s signed me off work .
Been prescribed Cyclizine .
I suggest going to the drs and see if they can help with anything x

I felt horribly nauseous until about 15 weeks. Eating small amounts made me feel worse but eating loads and often made me feel much better!

@itsemily Its awful isn't it. I was debating whether I should go to the doctor but I thought maybe I was just being dramatic. But saying that I cant be off work forever but cant move so I might go see what my gp says.

Potassium from the fruit can help prevent sickness in the morning. Staying hydrated for good health is important, particularly during pregnancy. Eight glasses of water may be difficult to consume a day while experiencing nausea, but dehydration may exacerbate nausea feelings. It may be more palatable to add apple cider vinegar and honey to water. It is also an effective method to suck ice cubes made from water or fruit juice. @Yaty I'm exactly the same! I'm 6+3 and I've been symptom less but the last week or so I've had really bad nausea/vomiting. I'm so fed up already and it's starting to get me down and make me really agitated at home & work. I've read other threads that it can last up to and beyond 12 weeks 😳 I've found sipping water and carbs (bread!!) helps for a bit xx
