Went for a scan and a small fibroid was discovered in my womb. Anybody had experiences with this?

Yes. I had a fibroid, it was in the womb bit with the baby, so I was put under consultant led care. I had more scans than normal to make sure that it didn't grow too big and affect the room the baby had to grow. Also because I had a greater risk of hemorrhaging (also have cervical erosion and menorrhagia). As it stood, each scan I had showed that the fibroid got smaller so it wasn't an issue. I did loose more blood than normal giving birth (vaginal), but they stabbed me in the leg with syntocinon after the birth to expel the placenta quicker and try and reduce the heavy bleeding.

Fibroids are really common and mostly uncomplicated.

Had one my last pregnancy, it grew with the scans. But at my 20 weeks scan there wasn't anymore as it shrinked.

Try not to worry, doctors will know if it's a concern or not. The ones that can cause a concern are those that grow pretty big and those that will remain located near the cervix towards the end of pregnancy. But your care team will know if this is the case. You might not be under special care because of that, I wasn't.

Thanks for your reply. Hope it doesn't cause me issues!

Yes. Me.

Was discovered over 20 years ago. It was never a problem during my pregnancies, like someone else said it’s only problem if it starts growing and the baby can’t get out.

I can still feel it and it’s not shrunk yet which they promised me it would do 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks. Yeah was told that and that it may require a c section. Just seems one thing after the other with me!
