Try not to panic. I have three healthy children and I had spotting during all of their pregnancy’s. Have you seen the midwife yet? You could ring them for some reassurance.

Morgjj · 07/01/2020 12:36

CleverQuacks I saw my midwife just yesterday and as I was so early on they didn’t check for heartbeat ! It’s only today that it’s begun I’m really panicking

They won’t be able to pick up a heart beat yet without a scan. Baby is far to small. If you are worried though you can ring your midwife and she may be able to send you for an early scan.

Morgjj · 07/01/2020 13:13

Do you think I should be ask to be referred to an early scan or do you think I shouldn’t worry so much about it ?

I had the same thing at 9 weeks which progressed into quite a big bleed but baby was absolutely fine. Currently 29 weeks and my pregnancy has been textbook so far other than that (touch wood).

Has it got worse?

MrsRocket · 07/01/2020 13:18

I bled a little during early pregnancy (think it was at 7/8 weeks) turned out to be implantation bleeding which is common, the fertilised egg needs to attach to the uterus. I read articles that say it happens about 2 weeks after conception but it isn't uncommon for it to happen in the first 8 weeks. Try not to panic x

WeeDinah · 07/01/2020 13:22

@morgjj have you wiped again? Are you still finding some on the paper? Does it still look the same? I'm 6wks 2days and when I wiped yesterday I found some mucus but I could have sworn I seen I pink tinge to it...it was super light tho! I rewiped straight after and nothing! Iv ben wiping ever since and still found nothing so iv been trying not to let it worry me as I had an early scan 4 days ago and heart was beating strong! Hope your ok, it's a very nerve wracking time! If it persists I'd call your early pregnancy unit

kelsnyp · 07/01/2020 13:25

More then likely implantation bleeding just make sure you take your folic acid very important for babys development 😀

Morgjj · 07/01/2020 13:52

I’ve wiped again and this is what was on the paper, sorry if it’s tmi. I’m so so worried!! It’s brown and got some pinkish in it too.

It is very common to have bleeding in early pregnancy for many reasons. If you're concerned, contact your mw and as to be referred to the early pregnancy unit. I had bleeding in both my pregnancies and both are now healthy teens. Flowers

natlove · 07/01/2020 14:06

Put a pad on and see if it fills up. I had this in my last pregnancy and my current one and the only thing the midwives said was to monitor it and if your filling a pad within 3 hours or there are clots bigger than a 50 pence piece then call back other than that they didn't offer much reassurance. I am currently 17 weeks and all is well and my daughter is 2. I hate to use the "it's normal" but that seems to be what gets thrown around so I would trust your gut and keep an eye on it xx

DerbyshireGirly · 07/01/2020 14:06

The majority of bleeds in early pregnancy are harmless - I didn't know that until it happened to me - but maybe contact your midwife just to put your mind at rest?

wellhelloyou · 07/01/2020 14:16

I had a horrific bleed at around two or three months. Literally all over the bathroom using toilet roll after toilet roll. So bad there was no other option (so we thought) that I had miscarried and was 'diagnosed' over the phone. I had no pain however. Turned out to be a large haematoma. Incredible to go from despair to joy in such a short time. Can you ring your midwife or perhaps 111 for advice?

If you've been 'hooked up' in to the hospital system yet you can always phone and speak to the maternity department. I had to have a scan at 3 weeks due to being confirmed unable to conceives so very early scans can take place. Doesn't mean they will see the heartbeat however.

Take a deep breath and see if you can speak to someone medical for help. Wish you the best.

wellhelloyou · 07/01/2020 14:17

Sorry, I should clarify. I was advised I had 1% chance of conceiving with all the medical support available not 'unable to conceive' - thus specialists scratching their heads when I did conceive and the very early scan as I couldn't be dated.

WeeDinah · 07/01/2020 14:28

@morgjj I would definitely get in touch with the early pregnancy unit, no harm in phoning for some advice and to put your mind at ease. I had cramping all last night but it seems to have eased off a bit but seeming this can be due to stretching. If I didnt have the scan 4 days ago i would probably have phoned by now as iv had 8 previous MC but i have a doctors appointment tomorrow for the flu jab and hcg levels to be checked so I'm holding off just now and praying everything ok as boobs are still sore and I still have nausea. Good luck and keep us updated 💐

memberofseven · 07/01/2020 14:50

You should get a scan at your epu for this. I had a similar bleed. She's nearly 12 now. Good luck. X

gincaketeathatisme · 07/01/2020 15:10

Give the Early Pregnancy Unit at your nearest hospital a call for advice.
Heartbeat will only be detectable via internal scan so early on but they can check your HCG levels to make sure they are still rising.

Morgjj · 07/01/2020 15:32

Thank you all so so much for your responses ! It’s given me a little bit of reassurance, I will for sure contact my early pregnancy unit for advice and will keep you all updated x

I spotted at 13 weeks which turned into a big bleed. I'm now 31 weeks and the pregnancy has been fine. I was terrified so completely understand. Definitely try and get seen at the pregnancy unit for some reassurance. Big hugs

Morgjj · 09/01/2020 14:17

Just an update-
I went for an early scan and everything seemed okay, couldn’t see the cause of the bleed but we saw baby’s heartbeat and everything looked okay!
The bleeding continued and a day after the scan I miscarried, I feel awful right now. Thank you all for your responses

Hasl · 09/01/2020 16:25

I am so sorry to hear that! I had an early scan on Tuesday as I also had bleeding and clots, we saw a healthy heartbeat and no reason for bleeding. But last night I had the most painful cramps that would come and go! They have continued into today but not as sore. Have you suffered from anything similar? I can’t have another scan until next week they said so I just have to wait 😭.
I really am sorry for your loss but it’s all a step in the right direction! At least we were able to conceive! Keep your chin up.

Morgjj · 09/01/2020 17:10

Mine just started off as bleeding, no cramps at all! We had scan and saw heartbeat and everything was ok.
Bleeding slightly slowed down and I thought that was the end of it. But the next morning I woke up with cramps, no blood to begin with and a few hours later the cramps got worse and I then had more bleeding and clots and I miscarried. Hoping everything goes okay for you !

Aly92 · 09/01/2020 22:20
