Hi, I formula fed my DS but some essentials are:

Muslin cloths- really good in the early days for wiping up bits of sick, dribble, etc. Also good if you're planning to use dummies because they get lost so easily but if you tie a dummy to each corner of the cloth it makes it a lot easier finding them!

Nappies/wipes/cotton wool/changing mat/changing bag- keep some nappies and wipes downstairs during the day and some more in your bedroom for the night.

Sleepsuits/long sleeve and short sleeve vests- I didnt really bother buying cute fancy little outfits for the first few months because they go through so many changes of clothes each day. I found sleepsuits more practical. Plus you're going to get lots of cute outfits as gifts so you don't need to buy any.

What are you planning to do for baby sleep wise? I used a Moses basket for the first 6 months but some people prefer a bassinet/crib type thing.

Stock up on the baby Calpol/Nurofen ready even thought they can't have it until 2-3 months just in case it slips your mind!

Head to toe wash, sudocrem, coconut oil, my DS had a lot of dry skin on his face when he was born so the coconut oil helped a lot.

Oh yeah before I forget mittens or sleepsuits with the inbuilt mittens is a good idea because there nails grow so quickly and they scratch themselves really easily.

I'm trying to think back to the early days lol.... but for breast feeding again other posters will be able to help you better but breast pads and nipple cream might be useful for you.

Lots of chocolate for yourself after the birth!

Wish you all the best!

Sorry can't be much help as I'm also due in 15 weeks so going to jump on this thread just in case i've missed anything :)

Due end of April also.

I'm guessing and looking at idea on here and generally online.

Roughly going with 6 babygrows and vests int he first few sizes, couple of cardigans and socks to start with. Will add more once we know how big he is ie if more newborn is needed or straight to 0-3 sooner.

Have a joint list shared with Dh on notes that we are ticking off as we find bits so we don't over buy, and can get bits left on list nearer the time.

Larger items it seems to depend on your personal preferences and lifestyle. But for us that's a cot and bedding, car seat, pram and sling. Haven't ordered any yet, but know now from reviews what we will get. Will try and order all by the end of the month I think as some have a few weeks delivery date.

Im due end of march and I THINK (hope) I have stuff that i'll need.

Ive got pram, sling and have got the nursery furniture (cot and chest of drawers) sorted. I have a next to me cot thingy for the first few months so he wont be sleeping in the nursery straight away, but ive found the nursery being sorted has given me a place to store all his stuff.

Um, I have sleepsuits and vests mainly, but have some dungarees. Ive been given SO MANY nappies and toiletry type stuff. Got a pack of muslins to see how I go with them (some people say dont bother with buying loads as you may not need that many).

The only thing im not sure on yet is feeding stuff. I plan to breast feed, but I know it doesnt always go to plan. I think ill wait and see what happens with buying bottles/breast pump. This thread has reminded me to buy some nipple cream and maybe some nipple shields.
