Hi,
I am 4weeks+6 (ish)
I've not had any symptoms as such other than swollen but not sore boobs and a few cramps on 12,13 and 14dpo.

I have been taking IC tests every day and they started to get darker but now they are getting lighter. (Unless its just my eyes)

I'm nearly 5 weeks and was expecting some symptoms by now but I just feel like I'm losing it.

I keep getting the odd few twinges in my uterus and it feels tight this morning.

Could this be signs of miscarriage?

I think I might lose this pregnancy :(

Are you taking the pregnancy tests with first morning urine? I never found those internet cheapie tests great. You could try a first response, I've always relied on those

Wanderer1 · 07/01/2020 07:10

My IC tests never got dark, it's something to do with the fact that there is hardly any dye in the.
In early pregnancy, maybe up to 8 weeks, I had horrendous cramping. As bad, if not worse than my period pains which I have to heavily medicate.
I went for an early scan at 7 weeks for reassurance, it was the only way I could calm down!

Surfskatefamily · 07/01/2020 07:13

Theres not much that we can day to reassure you. I'd suggest taking a few days off testing and do it with bigger gaps. Or if you are convinced your miscarrying, go to the doctor. They can do a blood test and then repeat it a few days later and compare hcg levels

dimdarkashian · 07/01/2020 07:15

Stop stressing yourself with the tests.

dimdarkashian · 07/01/2020 07:15

And fingers crossed all okay.

MustardScreams · 07/01/2020 07:15

Pregnancy tests aren’t a good indicator of a healthy pregnancy, because so many things can affect HCG levels in urine.

If there’s no bleeding then you’re still pregnant. Cramping is really normal in early pregnancy. Hope you’re ok.

Lolalovesmarmite · 07/01/2020 07:21

Odd twinges = perfectly normal.

No symptoms at 5 weeks = super normal

Please try to stop worrying and do stop taking tests. Most ‘early’ pregnancy symptoms won’t kick in until 6 weeks or later and some people barely get any symptoms at all until much later. I know miscarriage is worrying but peeing on endless sticks really won’t tell you if you’re going to miscarry.

Is this your first pregnancy?

MyDcAreMarvel · 07/01/2020 07:23

Take a frer the line on that should be dark by now .

misselphaba · 07/01/2020 08:55

Those tests look absolutely fine. Get a more sensitive test and you will probably get a darker, more reassuring line.

With my first pregnancy, I had absolutely no symptoms apart from ligament pain when coughing at around 12 weeks.

Eggcellent29 · 07/01/2020 09:32

I’m sorry to say that pregnancy tests (after the first positive ofc!) and symptoms don’t tell you anything about the state of your pregnancy in most cases

I had strong positives and symptoms throughout and after my MMC.

Please don’t torture yourself like I did! If you are worried, I would recommend some private scans. I found that having a scan every couple of weeks (esp after the horror of a MMC) helped me with my miscarriage worries.

But ultimately there is nothing you can do (outside of the obvious) to prevent miscarriage.

Could you speak to your partner about how you’re feeling? Sometimes getting the thoughts out of your head can help control the worry!

aNonnyMouse1511 · 07/01/2020 09:34

IC don’t hold much dye. I’d be inclined to take a CB digi.

Notsure94 · 07/01/2020 09:40

Its so very early - I wouldn't expect to get a dark line at 4+6, let alone in the preceding 10 days. Cramping and twinges are normal - your uterus is changing and expanding. Of course things can go wrong but as it stands you're still pregnant!

If you get a private scan wait until 6 or 7 weeks if at all possible. It's sometimes hard to see much until then which can be disappointing when you are seeking reassurance.

Beau2020 · 07/01/2020 09:45

If it helps I didn't get any symptoms until 6 weeks, and now they're unbearable

toomuchteaandcake · 07/01/2020 09:56

I had twinges (and pain) all the way through from about a week before my BFP. I'm now 15 weeks and still getting them. They don't mean anything on their own and could be anything from implantation, stretching, gas, false period cramps etc.

DerbyshireGirly · 07/01/2020 10:05

I never had any symptoms until 6 weeks. It's the only time in your life you worry about not feeling ill enough!

If you can, try to enjoy the calm before the storm. You will probably feel rotten soon...but some women breeze through with very few symptoms.

You are still really early on, try a FRER, hopefully you'll get a stronger line on those.

nowaypose · 07/01/2020 10:24

You will drive yourself insane constantly testing, it’s so pointless. Having no symptoms until 6 weeks is normal, some women actually never have symptoms at all. I had no symptoms with my DD’s but every symptom going with my DS’s, it’s just one of those things. Try to stop worrying and definitely stop testing...

Nogodsnomasters · 07/01/2020 10:35

You're going to drive yourself insane by the time your booking scan arrives. Have you had previous miscarriages is that what's causing this anxiety? Once you're confirmed pregnant there really is no need to continue taking pregnancy tests unless you experience miscarriage symptoms which it doesn't sound like you have.

Having no symptoms is not a signal of a miscarriage especially at 4w6d. I was 5 wks on the button when I had my positive test and had no symptoms at all other than a missed period, I didn't get my first symptom of nausea and tiredness for a further week when I was 6wks gone.

Cramping is normal at this stage, id almost describe it (and friends of mine have also described it this way) as if you're period is stuck for a week or two trying to come but not.

aNonnyMouse1511 · 07/01/2020 10:47

IC’s don’t have much dye in them. Maybe try a CB digi?

With my first pregnancy I had the worst pains I’ve ever felt. They’d make me sick they were so strong. I was convinced I had an ectopic or was going to miscarry but it was apparently just stretching!

With my second I had zero symptoms until 6 weeks and then they were barely there. It worried me but I have two healthy children now.

Good luck x

EssJayyCee · 07/01/2020 13:40

Thank you everyone you have really assured me to try not to worry so much.

I've not got horrible pains or bleeding so like you say I'm pregnant until I'm not..

@Nogodsnomasters I haven't had a miscarriage before but it's taken us 17 months to conceive and this week I was meant to be getting medication to help the process along but I am worried now i have managed to fall pregnant the help will not be there again if I miscarry. So its just a mixture of anxiety really.

It is my first baby and it's been a long time coming with irregular and long cycles.

I remember being convinced there was something wrong with my pregnancy in the first few weeks because I had no real symptoms at all. I wasted so much money on tests.

In the end I booked an early scan at maybe 7 or so weeks. People sneer at early scans but it gave me a lot of comfort. Advice though, I wouldnt book a scan before 6ish weeks as things are so tiny you're unlikely to see much

Nogodsnomasters · 07/01/2020 19:05

The first 12 weeks are a worrisome time, I completely understand. I went to my first scan and honestly felt like a fraud even though I'd had symptoms by that point, I genuinely felt like they were going to tell me there was no baby and it was all in my head! But if I were you I'd definitely stop testing now, try to allow yourself to feel some excitement alongside the nerves.

kelsnyp · 07/01/2020 23:19

I'm 29 weeks pregnant my symptoms kicked in at 8 weeks big style I've had 3 miscarriages and a ectopic in the past no symptom for each is the same x

Sunflower2019 · 08/01/2020 09:45

Definitely get a digital or a frer :) of course you will worry. We all do. Post a piccy here when you’ve done it and be happy! Xx

EssJayyCee · 08/01/2020 21:40

I took an FRER last monday and friday both were positive.
And a CB Digital on sunday morning which was 1-2 weeks.. even though going by BBT ovulation day it should have read 2-3 weeks. (I know you add 2 weeks on)

I am going to get some more FRERs at the weekend to see if they are darker compared to the ones I took last week.
