Fear of going anywhere

Is it weird to be scared of going anywhere?? I'm 34 weeks with dc2. My first was born very quickly (and without much warning) at 35 weeks - I've seen the fetal medicine consultant at 20 weeks but all he said was to have another scan at 28 weeks then 36 weeks (which seems a bit like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted). So I'm now almost at 35 weeks and I'm really anxious about going anywhere. DH suggested taking a day and going shopping about an hour away later this week and my first instinct was "no, what if...". Then I have a really important work meeting next week and I'm really panicked in case I was to go into labour in the office!!
Am I being ridiculous??

Definitely not being ridiculous! Maybe when you do go out see if someone can come with you so you don’t feel so anxious x

I can understand you. You're not being ridiculous.

Once you've been through something like that it's difficult to act like nothing happened. Plus I find it also weird they don't want to see you before 35 weeks.

Try to keep calm but do what feels comfortable for you, don't push yourself if you don't feel like going far from home. It's understandable.

Thanks everyone. I had my 34 week midwife appt today and she says she doesn't see anything that would indicate pre term labour but given I've had a previous one she wouldn't recommend going too far, so I'll carry on as I was and just hope for the best.

They also originally said it was going to be a big baby (ds1 was 7lb9 at 5 weeks early) - they said at 28 week scan it was looking to already be at least 1lb over average for that stage but today I was measuring at 33 weeks and she said tracking it was showing on the 50th centile! I guess I'll just have to wait and see!
