First time mum so this is all a bit new and confusing to me!

Currently 40 + 4 had a failed sweep on Saturday but a successful one this afternoon! For the last two or so days I've been getting a feeling like pressure in my bottom which I'm guessing is the baby pushing as she's low in my pelvis now! But since my sweep today this has been accompanied by my bump getting really rock solid every 15 or so minutes. Its completely painless as it hasn't put me off stuffing my face with biscuits and waddling around doing bits and bobs around the house!

I've been really fed up this last week or so with hip pains and not being able to sleep etc. Am I wishful thinking that this could be the beginning of the end and that I might actually have a baby some time soon? Grin

That's how it started off for me at 40+4, had painless tightenings on and off all day, more than usual, plus started to notice specks of blood when I went for a wee, all kicked off at 1.30am the following day and DD had arrived before breakfast at 40+5 :) hope things get going for you soon

I really really hope so! Booked in for another sweep Wednesday morning and if that does nothing then induction Thursday which I'd like to avoid if at all possible!

Best double check I've got everything ready just in case then Blush

Ooh have you got a birthing ball or something you can bounce on to get things moving?

Fingers crossed for you OP.

Rockchickcharley · 06/01/2020 20:55

Been on the ball! Almost fallen off it twice this evening, I'm not very well balanced now! Been trying to stay up and active to keep things going, let's hope it helps!

Honestly it may be worth getting some rest if you can. You may be end for a long night later!

annlee3817 · 06/01/2020 21:28

I did nothing, laid in the couch until bedtime eating chocolate lol, rest up just in case

Rockchickcharley · 06/01/2020 21:37

Sounds like a plan! Early night just in case Grin

This is so exciting! I'm 39 wks + and also watching closely as been having Braxton hicks all afternoon and evening after taking a long walk today. Also started to feel mild tummy pains, not sure if they're a sign?

Rockchickcharley · 07/01/2020 07:59

Well I've woken up from an unusually good nights sleep to nothing again! Heres hoping tomorrows sweep achieves something Confused

Ohh I hope something happens for you soon!
I’m 39+5 today and saw my midwife yesterday and she wouldn’t do a sweep (isn’t allowed at this point she said) so I cried on the way home haha.
I’ve been having braxton hicks, cramping, back pain, tightening, pressure down below on and off for about 2-3 weeks so I know how frustrating it is waiting for baby to arrive!

Rockchickcharley · 07/01/2020 14:31

Nope still nothing concrete! Starting getting that pressure again but thats all! Looks like sweep number three it is Hmm
