Viability scan tomorrow and I'm scared

Hi ladies,

My viability scan is tomorrow morning. I am terrified.

I had a MMC in May and on this pregnancy I started spotting at 5 weeks. I've had blood tests and one scan at 5 weeks where we saw the sac.

I am still spotting and I'm told this can be normal, the two hcg tests looked good.

I know it can go either way and that's making me feel sick with worry.

I needed to vent as I know no one can tell me the future :) xx

Good luck and try and stay positive! I’ve had 2 miscarriages in the past and am now 21 weeks! I have had spotting almost every week during this pregnancy, so I know exactly how worrying it can be, but so far things have been good for me! I have been told that it can just sometimes happen for some women and that I probably have an ectropian, so maybe you have the same! Just look out for anything that differs from the ordinary and get checked if you are ever worried! I get checked regularly and everyone has been really good to me! Good luck tomorrow Smile

It is good to hear a positive story like yours @MLP123

May I ask how did it get diagnosed? When I had my scan at 5 weeks they couldn't tell where the spotting was coming from but they didn't check as how they would during a smear test.

Fingers crossed, I'll try to keep myself busy this eve xx

I haven’t officially been diagnosed in this pregnancy, however I had IVF early last year which sadly failed, and I was told I had an ectropian then. I then fell pregnant naturally not long after and have had lots of spotting throughout. They have said that they aren’t keen to do a speculum exam as it could potentially make it worse, but they have scanned me lots of times and never found a reason for the bleeding and it seems to be linked to intercourse, bowel movements or sometimes just if I have a busy day when I’m on my feet a lot. Although it happens often, my spotting is usually fairly light and all those things are in keeping with an ectropian and I’m pretty used to the pattern now. I still get checked regularly and keep an eye out for if it is ever any different to usual or heavier etc. I hope your scan goes well tomorrow, good luck xx

@MLP123 scan went well. I couldn't quite believe it when the sonographer told us she could see the baby and heartbeat. This has been such a stressful time.

I have an haematoma linked to implantation and that's causing the spotting. So relieved. It works go on its own.

Gosh I feel like napping for the day after all the adrenaline. Xx

I meant, spotting will go on its own

I had a haematoma which was found at 7 weeks because of spotting.
At my 12 week scan it had completely gone.

That’s great news congratulations!! I hope you have a happy healthy remainder to your pregnancy!! Smile x

@Em39ma I'm glad your went by the 12 week scan. Did they suggest avoiding exercise until it had gone? The nurse I saw yesterday seemed to suggest I can continue as usual but have read on the Internet that rest or less exercise is a good idea.

Just curious to know what advice you had

@drubio they didn’t say either way, but as I had, had a miscarriage in the October before I stopped lifting and doing too much. I carried on walking as I felt that wasn’t to much stress on my body.
By the my LO is now a cheeky 13 week old
