Hi. What is the deal with nuts in pregnancy. My dh brought me some chocolates with nuts in and I have been leaving them till I had my midwife appointment but they keep glaring at me I am tempted to eat them.
Also I read some where you cant eat deli ham. Is that the same for prepackaged ham. Thanks

All the info on foods during pregnancy is here: www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/foods-to-avoid-pregnant/

Things I've learnt from mumsnet:

Nuts are fine
Ham is fine
Smoked Salmon and prawns are both fine
Philadelphia is fine
Ready made custard is fine

Shark - not fine
Pate - not fine
Licking pregnant sheep - not fine

An occasional glass of wine is fine and very not fine at the same time

Nuts are fine but better to avoid if you are asthmatic.
Nhs website covers almost everything.

In regards to alcohol I would say to avoid it all together as although there is evidence out there to suggest that a small glass of something occasionally is okay there isn’t a specific amount known that would or would not cause harm to your baby so why take the chance? :)

@RoomR0613 Loving your list, thanks for reminding me not to lick any sheep.

Lol thank you. You have made me very happy I am going to enjoy my chocs.

Haha licking pregnant sheep that made me chuckle. Thankfully none of them around so I cant be tempted with that.
