Pain on side of stomach

Hi all

My fiancee woke up this morning with a pain on the right side of her stomach or could be where the kidney is.

Has anyone experienced this ? She is now 15 weeks in to her pregnancy if this is of any help.

She didn't have this yesterday or last night only this morning. I did notice that she was sleeping on her back when I woke up but I don't know how long she had been in this position for.

Thanks

Tim

Try not to worry, it could be round ligament pain which is common at 15 weeks.

Kidney pain is in the back just under the bottom of the ribs if that helps. A kidney infection is usually a continuous ache and kidney stones is a very sharp pain.

Do you mean stomach or abdomen?
Kidney pain would be in her back.
If you mean abdomen I agree with pp that it could be round ligament pain.
If she is feeling unwell/ feverish and pain is worsening, it isn't unheard of to get appendicitis in pregnancy.
If she is worried, she should speak to her midwife.

You don't need to worry about this until 28 weeks, according to the NHS. Baby is still very small at 15 weeks.

I had this for a few days last week - it feels like a stitch down my right hand side. It comes and goes. Having googled I concluded that it’s round ligament pain! I found a warm bath really helped.
