turnthebiglightoff · 05/01/2020 19:03

"Pregnancy insomnia is just setting you up for when the baby's here"

"You dont really need to eat for two" YES I DO FUCK OFF

Any advice happily given OP :-)

SnoozyLou · 05/01/2020 19:10

"Was it an accident?" HR Manager

"Yes. I got up for a drink in the middle of the night. I tripped, I fell, and..."

Rude cow.

essexanon · 05/01/2020 19:11

“Your only 9 weeks, how you going to cope when your 30 weeks”

“If you think your tired now, wait until the baby comes”

“How can you be tired, all you’ve done is sleep all day”

“Your not the first person to have a baby you know”

“You can forget all those eyelash and nail extensions you have now”

I must admit, every time I hear 1 of the many comments, it literally takes all my strength not to punch that person.

🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

puds11 · 05/01/2020 19:17

‘You shouldn’t be doing that in your condition’ Hmm fuck off!

‘Say good bye to sleep’ I already have a child Confused

‘What do you think it is’ I think it’s either a boy or girl 🤷‍♀️

SnoozyLou · 05/01/2020 19:20

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! My absolute favourite.

"Should you be eating that?"

ivfbabymomma1 · 05/01/2020 19:20

If you think your tired now wait till you have the baby

Oh you've bought XYX for the baby? You won't need that, what a waste of money

You can forget every having a life after the baby is here

Is it twins?

Your only 13 weeks? Wow you've got a long way to go!

Aren't you to to miss drinking in the summer/over Xmas/over your birthday etc etc

OMG you still haven't had the baby yet! This is the longest pregnancy ever

puds11 · 05/01/2020 19:24

‘They’ll come when they’re ready’ when I was over due and fuming Angry

Boymummy3 · 05/01/2020 19:26

I think I'm the only pregnant women that isn't bothered by other people's comments I just let them go over my head 🙈

All I've had recently is the sympathetic comments and looks which don't bother me because these people can clearly see I'm about to burst 😂 I welcome all sympathy

saywhatwhatnow · 05/01/2020 19:27

I've had a few 'ohhh you're a lot bigger this time around!'. Thanks for that. Just what I want to hear.

And 'you look tired/knackered!'. I am 38 weeks pregnant and have a one year old, to say I'm tired is an understatement, I don't need people who've had 10 hours uninterrupted sleep pointing it out!

lilmishap · 05/01/2020 19:33

What are you hoping for? - I'm hoping it's a baby
It's a magical experience isn't it? - Fuck the fuck off
Will you be having an epidural? a c-section? vaginal delivery? - How the fuck would I know and what business is it of yours.

I wasn't a happy pregnant woman

lilmishap · 05/01/2020 19:34

Pregnant women are so beautiful - this one just creeped me out

Shesalittlemadam · 05/01/2020 19:36

Thing is though, it's true about making the most of sleep now! Trust me, it really, really is!!!!!!!

Sleeping in will be a thing of the past from the day they're born

MyCatScaresDogs · 05/01/2020 19:39

Is there any news? Anything to report?

Have had this since 38 weeks - I am thinking of a recorded message which says “No, there is no news. When I have news, I will TELL you. Now stop asking stupid questions and pass the chocolate.” (Or “oh shit, yeah, sorry, he was born last week, forgot to say Grin”.)

I wouldn’t mind but one of these people is my DSis who would be the first to know if anything was “happening”....

Shesalittlemadam · 05/01/2020 19:42

So when they're telling you to make the most of sleep now, they're giving you very kind advice. I can pretty much guarantee that nearly every mother out there, wishes they'd slept more in pregnancy and made the most of both the rest and the time spent alone with their partner (if they have one, of course).

Piixxiiee · 05/01/2020 19:43

Oh tberes so many but "anything to tell us?" Is the worse especially once overdue by 12 days... and close family asking me. I did start messaging back "oops yes I had her last week forgot to mention it!!"

JasonPollack · 05/01/2020 19:48

Oh do fuck off @Shesalittlemadam you've clearly missed the point of the thread by a country mile.

Are you sure it's not twins is my absolute least favourite.

Although the daily messages from 38 weeks last time made me fucking murderous. They're actually why I joined mumsnet, so people could talk me down from telling everyone to fuck off!

JasonPollack · 05/01/2020 19:50

This was useful!

Panpastels · 05/01/2020 19:51

Sleeping in does not have to be a thing of the past! I've had four children and will make sure I have a lie in regularly at all costs, it's work more than children that stops me Angry

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 05/01/2020 19:53

its the belly touchers that annoy me. Im sorry, but does my being pregnant allow you to eschew all social norms and touch people without invitation?

Just one that really annoyed me, from a receptionist at work, "omg you've started wearing maternity uniform already?" I was 20 weeks pregnant.

"did you do it just to get a year off work?" - same woman. she's a cunt.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 05/01/2020 19:55

@Shesalittlemadam we're well aware that sleep goes away when the baby arrives. We dont need to be patronised and told by others, as if we dont know.

virginpinkmartini · 05/01/2020 19:56

Me, lifting a box of lettuce

Colleague 'OI! PUT THAT DOWN!'
HmmI see a personal trainer, trained in pre- natal fitness, and she has me lifting kettle bells. I hardly think lifting some boxes of veg is going to put me or baby in harms way.

Me, pouring myself my only cup of coffee for the day
Colleague--' Oh, coffee. That's really bad!'
Me- 'Actually, I can have 200mg of caffeine a day. This is less than that...'
Colleague-'No, really naughty! Decaf only.'
Me- 'Okay then, please stop offering me cups of tea, or chocolate cake then if I'm banned from caffeine.'

virginpinkmartini · 05/01/2020 20:00

I'm really getting fed up of colleagues berating me for doing tasks that are part of my job. The amount of times I've run around trying to get help for the more strenuous of tasks, only to be told that everyone is too busy, so I've chosen to do everything myself but be extra careful (PPE, proper lifting etc) and yet people still tell me off. Fucking help me then, if you're not going to put the frozen delivery away then shut your mouth and let me get on with it.

Taddda · 05/01/2020 20:00

'Your having another so soon, you should have had twins'....need I comment!?

'You won't be wearing those skinny Jean's again, can I have them?' Fuck. Off....

'Your hips have spread, it's a girl!' Its not, its cake, I'm pregnant....

Crazypanda85 · 05/01/2020 20:02

Everyone discussing how much I should be eating. STFU, I've got to 32 managing to eat correctly, I'm so nauseous I'll eat what I want when I want. But many thanks for the concern.

@shesalittlemadam.....run... run before all the angry pregnant ladies get you. We all know we won't have any sleep, this isn't the thread to remind us all Grin

Taddda · 05/01/2020 20:02

(It was a girl btw Grin)
