weak bladder or waters gone?

Hi everyone this is random but wondered if anyone else had had a similar experience.
Today I went to the toilet and after going for a wee I stood up and more wee started to trickle out without me pushing . I then sat back down and began to push again and hardly anything came out but when I stood up it began to trickle again. I’m just wondering have my waters gone or is it just pressure on my bladder. I’m 33+1 weeks
Thanks in advance

Almost definitely just pressure on your bladder. Wear a pad for half an hour or so and if it's pink stained at all it's likely to be waters leaking.

Or call your maternity unit if you want to get checked out.

coiner · 05/01/2020 15:23

I don't know... after my waters went with my 2nd it would only trickle when I was in a certain position. Baby was 'blocking' the flow when I stood up, but as soon as I sat it was like a tap was left on slightly!! Might yours be the opposite?

I agree about the pad and pink.

squee123 · 05/01/2020 15:59

I would call your Maternity Assessment Unit for advice

BillieEilish · 05/01/2020 16:03

Bless you!

You described exactly what happened to me... it was waters breaking.

You'll know soon enough!

I was 42 weeks pregnant and still confused as to what this could be Hmm Grin

bez91 · 05/01/2020 16:04

As others have said I would get checked out, this is exactly how my waters went x

BillieEilish · 05/01/2020 16:05

Oh sorry, saw you are 34/35 weeks. Phone for advice xxx

Mummy2beAT · 05/01/2020 22:01

It hid happened at about 2 o’clock , it wasn’t a lot of water but I couldn’t stop it. I’ve wore a pad since and it’s been dry. Shall I just monitor it or ring up.

I'd monitor it for now if the pad has been dry since.
The same thing happened to me but it was my waters. It was constant for a few hours though so yours may not have broken.
Good luck anyway SmileFlowers

Mummy2beAT · 05/01/2020 22:06

@ @bez91 how many weeks were you when this happened

namechange1041 · 05/01/2020 22:08

Actually!.. I don't want to give you the wrong advice OP.
I said monitor it for now but just to be on the safe side I would ring up the midwives and double check.
I would hate to tell you to wait and then it happens! As that is exactly what happened to me Grin

DecemberSnow · 05/01/2020 22:10

Ring for advice, you are still early and you may need to be seen

piperk · 05/01/2020 22:14

This happened to me NYE! It was however just urine Blush midwife said it happens all the time. Just ring to be on the safe side I'm glad I did xx

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 05/01/2020 22:22

Definitely phone for advice. If it is waters then they will want to monitor you. Better safe than sorry :-)

georgialondon · 05/01/2020 22:25

I think waters going is different to what you described

pinkpanther84 · 05/01/2020 22:30

My waters went when I was sat on the loo having a wee, it was a gush though rather than a trickle. I would ring up your maternity unit for advice and see what they say

Frenchw1fe · 05/01/2020 22:34

You need to ring for advice because if it us your waters in very rare cases you can get cord prolapse.
Don't panic because it is rare just get advice.

Mummy2beAT · 05/01/2020 22:50

Hi everyone thanks for your replies . I’ve been told to rest and monitor throughout the nigh. Just rang the labour ward. If I wake in the middle of the night and there’s another trickle they will admit me. Babies been wriggling away so midwife said just to trust my instincts

Waters have quite a distinctive smell, very different from urine. Mine went when I was in bed both times, and it did feel exactly like I'd wet myself except the smell and actually they were a little slimy, dripping down my legs. Glamorous.

Good luck OP, hope it's just a weak bladder, for a few more weeks at least.

littlecabbage · 05/01/2020 22:59

Yes, mine went early in my first pregnancy, at 34 weeks, and it was just a trickle down my leg. It smelt like Milton sterilising fluid if you know what that smells like! (I had to actually wipe and sniff it - the smell wasn't so strong that I could smell it from where it as iyswim).

Mummy2beAT · 06/01/2020 09:06

Hi everyone hardly slept with worry last night , woke up with a dry pad so hopefully everything’s okay. Been getting pains in my lower belly and back which I’m hoping is braxton hicks . When did everyone else get them

Weenurse · 06/01/2020 09:08

Good luck

Gwilt160981 · 06/01/2020 09:12

I thought I had a trickly bladder all those years ago to find out I was in labour. Get it checked out 👍

Mummy2beAT · 06/01/2020 09:24

Thanks everyone , pains easing then coming back . When I rang the hospital at night was just told to monitor it. Pads still dry I’m just so confused and worried if it was my waters trickling I’m only 33 weeks

OP posts:
Mummy2beAT · 06/01/2020 09:33

Do I just ring up and asked to be seen , even if my pad is dry, if they’ve asked me to monitor it

OP posts:
DivGirl · 06/01/2020 11:21

I'd ring them and tell them what you've said to us, and let them know you're only 33 weeks. They'll probably ask you to come in.
