Baby diagnosed with microcephaly and brachycephaly?

I am 22weeks pregnant as of today.
I have found out my baby has brain abnormalities. They have named it as microcephaly and brachycephaly which I am not familiar but have read some stories about it. I had a Fetal MRI done waiting for the results and preparing for the worst as all I have heard is the worst. I have been told my daughter may have serve learning disability and may have problems with mobility. They have given me the option to have a termination. This is my first pregnancy and I am so scared all I want is my daughter to be healthy. Would you know what I would be expecting if I decided to continue with the pregnancy? Might the Fetal MRI shown something different? I would love to know if anyone has been through the same and what were the outcomes?

Baby's HC 148.7mm
BPD 42.9mm
TCD 15.8mm
AC 163.7mm
FL 37.4mm
Fetal weight 404g

Hi OP, don’t have much to say but didn’t want to read and run. So sorry you’ve had this news, must be terrifyingFlowers

I’m a children’s nurse and although I work in a completely different speciality, I have on occasion looked after kids with microcephaly. It does seem to come hand in hand with moderate to severe learning difficulties and often also delays/problems with movement, tone etc sadly. Doesn’t mean they’re not happy, bright, lovely children but wouldn’t want to sugar coat it.

There is a board on MN called antenatal tests and I’d advise you to post on there as lots of people write about scan abnormalities on that one. There’s also a SEN board and you may find parents of children with these conditions which may help understanding a little more about it. This may help you have a clearer idea of what you’d like to do. Either way hope it all works out and you’re okay xx

@annafs Thanks so much for commenting, I really appreciate it.

I have read a little about my baby's condition and I it can be moderate to severe. Parts of her brain have not formed, doctors and a neonatal consultant have told me the funds are quite worrying.

This is my first child so it is very hard for me to hear this upsetting news.
Knowing she is growing inside of me and feeling Her kicks, makes everything hurt so much.
I want my daughter to be healthy and have the best life possible but also if she will have no quality of life I do not want her to suffer.
I want to do the best for her and my family.
I am really hurt and confused right now.
I am waiting to receive my TORCH results and a phone call about the Fetal MRI on Tuesday and to have a another appointment on Thursday to discuss the findings.
I have posted in the groups you have mentioned. Thanks so much.
Take care x
