Hi all, I’m 39+1 today and have woken up feeling generally just unwell! Very nauseous, mild lower back ache, sore throat, achy legs, mild headache. I’ve had a few feelings over the last couple of days which I’m unsure whether are tightenings or baby stretching her bum out! Just wondering if anyone else had had similar this close to their due date, and whether it could be a sign we will meet our little girl soon!

A week before I gave birth I thought I was coming down with a cold.

McHelenz · 05/01/2020 07:53

Im 39 + 3 and feel similar. Snoring loads because my nose is so dry and feels swollen, crampy arms and legs, period pains (mainly at night) and tigtenings which I think is bum poking out... I thought I was getting a cold too.

MrsJ1906 · 05/01/2020 08:47

Maybe that’s it, maybe I’m just coming down with a cold but it doesn’t quite feel like that. Can’t quite put my finger on it but just don’t feel right!

This is me yesterday, woken up by back ache and mild cramps felt really sick. Then this developed into strong cramps in back and lower abdo and shivering. Had it all night. Did ease a bit with paracetamol. I've managed an hours sleep here and there. Now no pain but feel aching and sick. I thought it might be early labour as 39+6 but I just feel weird now.

MrsJ1906 · 05/01/2020 09:10

I know the feeling fluffyjumper, I just feel really strange. Like unwell but not how I would usually feel when getting poorly.

I'm a nurse so have tested my urine proteins and infection all clear. But it may be worth seeing someone to test yours. It cant hurt. Keep us updated.

Engard · 05/01/2020 11:01

I'm only 36+4 but you've just described exactly how I am feeling today 😞
Keep us updated on any activity!

I felt like this just before DS was born. I was 39+6 and remember waking up and just feeling meh. Nothing I could put my finger on, but just off kilter.
DS was born at 6pm same day!

MrsJ1906 · 05/01/2020 11:32

I’ll keep you all updated. I’m a nurse too fluffyjumper but don’t have any urine dipsticks at home. I’m hoping it will either develop into labour or just pass. We will see!

Always keep a stash of lipsticks and a basic dressing kit. Lol.

fluffyjumper · 05/01/2020 16:53

Dipstick not lipstick. I'm back on the cyclizine so just sleeping lots now. I think the not knowing is the worst.

MrsJ1906 · 05/01/2020 16:55

Yeah nightmare! I’m still feeling much the same as earlier. She’s very active though, wriggling around a lot so I’m not concerned about her! Just wish it would either progress into something or pass, as I could do without feeling rubbish!

So randomly this morning ladies I’ve woken up with backache but feel like I’ve never been ill. Who knows what happened yesterday! But nothing else to report!

That's fab. I'm currently sat in assessment unit having iv fluids as I haven't passed urine since 9 am. They think I'm in early labour 2-3cm dilated with some contractions. Waiting on kidney function results. I still feel sick.

MrsJ1906 · 06/01/2020 19:15

Oh no! Sorry to hear that! I’ve had some tightenings this evening but not feeling too bad! Bit of headache but we will see if anything progresses! Hopefully you will feel a bit better and meet your little one soon!

I had my ds last night at 20.23. Weighing 8.14lbs and a 3 hour active labour. I had a home birth but had to be transferred to hospital due to a third degree tear. All fixed and home later hopefully.

MrsJ1906 · 08/01/2020 09:47

Aww congratulations @fluffyjumper still no news here 😢 except I’ve woken up today with the worst pain in my left ear that’s radiating down to my jaw. Waiting till 12 when the gp opens appointments up again!
