I'm probably overreacting...

This is just a bit of a rant but I'm 17 weeks pregnant and I have to go to bed at about 9-10pm every night because I'm exhausted. My husband likes to game and last night he stayed up late, which is fine but I woke up about midnight to go for a wee and he was still playing. I came back to bed and left his bedside lamp on, which is a huge distraction for me when I'm trying to sleep . Anyways, I lay in bed awake, checked my phone for a bit and heard him move about thinking he was coming to bed. Fast forward to now and I've had enough, the light needs turning off so I turn it off to discover the hallway light is off and he's gone to sleep in the other bedroom. He must have thought I was flat out and didn't want to disturb me. Which is fine but he knows I usually wake when he goes to the bathroom. So now I'm in bed, wide awake and really annoyed with him. I know I'm probably overreacting and it's the hormones but I'm upset and no longer tired and needed to rant :( x

Am I reading this right- you’re pissed off with him because you left a light on?

ATmummy · 05/01/2020 02:05

@Hodge85 partners have a funny way of showing any sympathy towards us when pregnant. I’m sure he didn’t mean to keep you up or prevent you from sleeping but I’m sure these things slip their minds! Try not to bite and explain that your partners actions have disrupted your sleep. Try not to argue though just say your piece and go back to bed sometimes best we just suck it up as hormones running high can influence us to overreact. Hope you feel better in the morning xx Smile

Also how I read it @VodselForDinner...

Sorry OP but I did let out a bit of a snugger reading this. I get that pregnancy is exhausting and that hormones are a pain in the arse but come on - you left the light on so it has nothing to do with your DP! 😂

Hodge85 · 05/01/2020 02:11

@VodselForDinner he actually left the light on and he said he was coming to bed and then didn't.

@ATmummy I think I'm just tired and can't sleep and when I thought he was coming to bed then I couldn't go to sleep as I knew that he was going to wake me up. I'm sure I'll be fine in the morning but I just got annoyed because it's so late :(

I be upset /annoyed too.

Tell him if he's gonna be late to bed that he can sleep on the settee because you need your sleep right now!

I have this with my DH, I unreasonably make him come to bed at 10pm. I can see why you are annoyed but it probably is hormones and being tired making you angry.
