Allergy to Cyclogest pessaries?

Hi All, I’m almost 7 weeks pregnant but because of previous miscarriages, I’ve been put on cyclogest pessaries. They were fine for about a week, no side effects are all. But in my second week, I had terrible nausea, irritability and an aversion to most foods. I’m now in my third week of cyclogest, and seem to be over these side effects, but instead, I have a sore vag and perenium!!! I can’t sit, and sleeping is also painful. Is this an allergic reaction? The area is so tender and swollen ☹️☹️. It came on so suddenly too- I was fine for the whole time I was on cyclogest, one day I sat watching movies in bed for maybe 2 hours, when I got up, I felt sore, and it’s just gotten worse. Anyone else had a similar experience with cyclogest?

Yep l did. So so painful. Sitting down wasn’t great and going to the toilet even worse. Clinic weren’t helpful, they suggested going for a walk, water and paracetamol?!

Hi EL8888, my gynaecologist is also not being helpful! He told me last week when I complained of nausea etc that my side effects are not real. I said that they were all listed in the information sheet!! Think I’m gonna need to see him again about this! Had such an uncomfortable night’s sleep!

I would suggest using them up the back passage instead. I had no side effects at all and it was easy to pop one in and carry on with my day. It might help the irritation already there settle down a bit?

@PeeVee not going to lie l got a bit of this myself. Very frustrating. Mine lasted for the best part of a week after l stopped using them

@Ginandtonic31 yeah l agree with this advice -this is what lm going to do when l next use them for IVF

I also used them up the back passage after finding it unbearable using them up the front! Far less discomfort and much easier! Good luck!
