Low HCG, advise?

Long post coming, I have no idea what's going on or what to think! Should be 5+5 going by LMP.
So New Year's Eve I passed a clot and bled for about and hour. Went to a and e on New Year's Day for a blood test and they referred me to EPU for a scan as my HCG was only 228. Had a scan yesterday, my uterus was empty. Said it could be because I'm still too early, but they want to rule out an ectopic or MC so sent me for another blood test. Had BT today, HCG levels have increased but barely, they are now 268. It's been 48 hours so they should have doubled. Just spoke to the doctor on the phone and they want me to go in again on Sunday for more bloods! This is so draining, i just want to know what's happening 😭. Anyone had a similar experience?

I had similar in February and unfortunately it wasmt good news it turned out to be ectopic I had no symptoms and no pain the only reason it was found so early was that like your self I bled a little and passed 1 small clot I bled very little as it was caught early it meant it didnt rupture anywhere and I could keep both tubes and had methotrexate having this does mean you cant try for 3 months but once we started try again in may we caught the 2nd month trying and am now 24weeks so I would personally say prepare for the worse but when you do ttc again there is a good chance you would still have a normal pregnancy xx

Hi @KHall84 thank you for your reply! Sorry that happened to you. I'm still none the wiser, been having bloods every 48 hours still and got some more today 🙄. How long was it until you were diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy? X

@xxchlobo90xxAbout 7 to 10 days had lots if bloods every 48hrs as sometime our bodies will just obsorb it back in naturally so no treatment needed unfortunately this wasnt the case with me, how have your bloods been ?

My bloods were 228, 268 and 333. So they're rising but barely, will see what today's are. They haven't said it's ectopic but after re searching and speaking to others I'm pretty certain! Just fed up now, want it over and done with in the nicest way possible x

@xxchlobo90xx yes mine were rising like that I would definitely say it wont be a viable pregnancy but keep me updated and good luck today xxx

This happened to me & I have a healthy 10 month old baby. I went in with bleeding & they did bloods it only risen by 19 percent & then second blood test 45 percent which still wasn't enough. I was adamant I knew my own body & asked for a repeat scan as first one nothing shown this is why they thought it was etopic pregnancy. I just knew it wasn't I wasn't in pain the bleeding had stopped so I agreed one more scan unless i had any more bleeding or pains I would of went ahead with the etopic procedure they have to carry out but on the scan there was my baby with heart beating! So it can happen!

@KHall84 so had more bloods today and they had risen to 511 this time. Had another scan, she was poking around for ages and couldn't see me any sign of pregnancy anywhere, checked my tubes, ovaries etc.

After that I sat down with the doctor who said he doesn't think it's ectopic, as I have no bleeding/pain or any other signs. He doesn't want to give me methotrexate yet as he said it's too early for that and there is still a small chance this could be a viable pregnancy. He said he thinks the likeliest outcome is that I will miscarry naturally but they still want to keep testing my bloods every 48 hours and see what happens! His exact words were 60% chance of miscarrying, 35% chance of a normal pregnancy and 5% ectopic. It's so draining, I just want a definite answer x

@AmeliaRose2801 aw really that's good to hear there is a possibility of a positive outcome! The waiting is just so hard. I'm also trying not to get my hopes up but after today it's so hard not too x

So more bloods today, still increasing! They're now 629, still no pain or anymore bleeding. They want to leaves over the weekend and see me again on Monday for more bloods and another scan. Sick of this waiting game now 🙄

Oh no this has been going on since Christmas for you I remember you saying you were out before I got my bfp.
At least I knew I was out straight away, this must be so hard.

Yeah I thought I was out as my AF turned up, or what I though was AF then I got a BFP 2 days later. It's crazy, even the doctors have no idea as I'm definitely pregnant, they just can't locate it. It's so frustrating, I know deep down it's not a viable pregnancy but I just want an answer now 😔.

I'm ok, bleeding has slowed right down and mentally I feel better, we are joking around more and I only cried once yesterday. Just want to get back into ttc x

I started bleeding on Wednesday this week at 6+6 and went to the EPU. I was scanned yesterday and they couldn't find any evidence of a pregnancy in my womb and diagnosed a PUL and possible ectopic. They took bloods yesterday and called to say my level was 115. I wasn't Sure if they meant it was 115,000 or if I misheard and he said 1500. I'm bleeding heavily still like a period with mild period cramps (no sharp pain or other symptoms) and am going back on Saturday to have a second blood test.

Obviously the best case would be that it's already dropping but I'm terrified of having to have surgery for an ectopic.

Has anyone else had a PUL or ectopic that reabsorbed? If so what were your blood levels?

Hi @Gemc81 sorry to hear you're going through this too! I think they most likely meant 115 , mine were only 233 when I first had my bloods done and they've only risen to 629 as of yesterday. I've only bled once though. As you are bleeding heavily it could be that you are miscarrying already, in which case your bloods should drop tomorrow. That's what happened to me in my last pregnancy.

Im still not sure where I'm at with my PUL so sorry I couldn't be of much help! Xx

Thought I'd post my latest update. Went back to the hospital today for more bloods and another scan, but after bleeding for 2 days I knew my HCG levels would drop. Which they did, down to 200. So I'm miscarrying naturally, without sounding to awful I'm glad it's happened this way with any interference from methotrexate. I was so worried it was ectopic too so I'm relieved it isn't!

@xxchlobo90xx I'm sorry to hear that. My test on Saturday revealed a drop to 36 and my bleeding has now stopped. I'm also glad I didn't need further medication.
