Firstly I realise what I’m writing isn’t smart but please help!
I previously had severe HG throughout my pregnancy with DS. I still had some of the medication left over. I am now pregnant again and attend the GP as the sickness has started again. He gave me stemitil which I have been taking 3 times a day. I felt awful this morning so after my dose of stemitil (2 hours after) I took an ondanasatron which I had left over. I have since googled this and it says taking them together can cause life threatening complications?!
I remember I took cyclizine and ondensateon previously spaced apart as per the doctor so I assumed this would be fine....
I’m hoping it’s onlt dangerous if taken together... has anyone been prescribed this or have any info?
To top it all off we have a family funeral this morning so I know it’s stupid but I don’t want to say to DH I have just OD myself?!

Don't panic. One extra dose won't be enough to be life-threatening. Because prescribed safe doses are well under dangerous levels. Tell your GP and just don't do it again.
Also, please don't spread panic by telling your husband you "OD'd"! My poor DH would have a heart attack! You accidentally took one extra dose, that's all, don't worry

Ps sorry to hear about the funeral. Take care, hope your HG gets much better soon

Please do not panic. It seems unlikely the two together will do any harm. I’ve been on 3x meds for HG this pregnancy - ondansetron, cyclizine & metaclopromide.. spaced out through the day. I would therefore imagine if you can take various anti-sickness together safely that there is little concern with Stemitil & Ondansetron.

That said, I’m not a medic & so can’t be sure! I’d personally give your GP or 111 a call if you are really worried. Also, get yourself back to the GP if stemitil isn’t working & get some fresh ondansetron. Looking at my pack now, it has a year long date on it. So if your DS is over one, then it’s probs out of date & won’t be all that effective!

Hope the funeral goes as well as these things can, sorry for a loss in your family Sad

Thanks ladies.
I spoke to a pharmacist and as you said one dose should be fine, the heart thing is can cause is a very rare side effect but was the first thing that came up when I googled-typical! I just wasn’t thinking straight with everything going on today and wouldn’t usually do something so stupid.
Thanks again.
