last week i was having some brown discharge and pain on right side, was sent for scan but absolutely nothing seen, they took bloods and repeated 2 days later and they doubled which was good. I was told it could just be too early for scan, and my dates were way out, conception could be mch later and date of last lmp is just a guide, im confused,i thought this was how you worked dates out?

how far along are you by your dates?

teuch · 27/08/2007 19:34

how far on do you think you are?

beansprout · 27/08/2007 19:35

Last LMP is only a guide as it assumes the archetypal 28 day cycle, with ovulation on day 14. If your cycle is longer/you ovulate later, you may not be as many weeks pregnant as the LMP date would suggest. You will have a dating scan at around 12 weeks and they will give you an accurate date for how many weeks pregnant you are.

well i thought last lmp was 9th july, they said it was odd nothing was seen on scan,no sign of even an empty sac to suggest a miscarriage, only got bfp last weekend, got firmer painfl boobs and nausea, definately feel pregnant

forgot to say they are scanning again 4th sept, and bloods suggested i was only just 4 weeks

maybe you had a very very long cycle (has happened to me a few times) and have only just become pregnant thats why it was taking so long for a bfp?

4 weeks is too early to see anything on a scan

fawkeoff · 27/08/2007 19:52

did they do an internal scan on you?????

marg232 · 27/08/2007 19:55

yes internal scan

they should be able to see something if they are re scanning you next week.you've probably ovulated later than you thought and the bleed may just be implantation try not to fret im sure things will be fine for you x
