I’m 6 weeks + 6 days pregnant and ever since I had my internal scan (where the heartbeat was confirmed) I’ve been spotting and having these really painful shooting pains in my cervix.

She did press REALLY hard against it and it hurt way more than my previous one, I’ve had the spotting on two occasions.

My scan was on Friday the 27th of December. I felt extremely sore down below.

Spotting started on Sunday the 29th of December. Literally a few streaks of blood when I wiped.

It then stopped, but then resumed on Tuesday the 31st of December. It was a bit more than last time but it seemed to be older blood? It was more pink-ish, brown.

I did go to my doctors and they said that it’s normal, they didn’t offer me a scan, or check my HCG levels or my cervix.

I get the stabbing pains in my cervix and then within a few hours, the spotting began.

It sounds like they may have irritated your cervix which is more easily done while pregnant for some reason. If it makes you feel better, I was 14 weeks when I noticed a small amount of red blood after sex. I went to the EPU and begged for a scan and they couldn’t see anything wrong so I assume it’s from an irritated cervix from sex. Sounds like she pushed really hard against it!! If you’re worried though go to the EPU and I sit on a scan or an internal examination for some peace of mind. Good luck xx
