Hi everyone
I'm 6 weeks pregnant today - first baby. I've known for a couple of weeks now as I found out just before Christmas! I have a private scan booked for next week so ill be just over 7 weeks. Did anyone else have one at this stage? What was you able to see?
Im so worried about things going wrong or even getting to the scan and nothing being there, does that sound silly? Time is going so slow I just want to make sure everything is ok.
Also, how many weeks were you when you told your parents/in laws?
Thank you x

Congratulations!

I had my first reassurance scan at 7+1 from LMP and was dated 8+0 (each scan since has confirmed that I was 8+0). To be honest, you don't see much but I didn't expect to. All I wanted to know that there was actually something there and it was viable. I saw a tiny blob which had a little flicker in the middle (heartbeat). I've had another 3 scans since (approx 2/3 weeks apart) and it's amazing to see how quickly they develop!

I found out I was pregnant at 3+5 and time seemed to move so slow but I'm 16+3 now and things seem to be moving quicker. I had my latest scan on Saturday and found out we're having a boy 💙

I told my parents at 7 weeks as I was so ill with morning sickness but we didn't tell the rest of our family until after our 12 week scan. We only told everyone else, friends etc., yesterday. It's made it all a bit more real now that everyone knows.

Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months x

I had a scan last week at what I thought was 7+5 but it turned out I was actually only 6+1. We couldn't see much on the ultrasound so i ended up having an internal scan so we could get a better look at our little jelly bean and we got to hear the heart beat!
I got my BFP in the first week of December and agree, time is going soooo slow!

al2616 · 02/01/2020 09:48

Congratulations! I can totally relate. I am now 25 weeks pregnant and, trust me, it is going really quickly now. I can't believe where the last 6 months have gone! I was really stressed in the early days so I convinced DH that we wanted to get the NIPT harmony test. So we had a scan at 10 weeks. I remember being so unbelievably relieved that I hadn't been making it all up! I hope all goes well for you! I know its hard but do try to relax. You need to trust that baby knows what it's doing and there really isn't much you can do about it!

toomuchteaandcake · 02/01/2020 09:54

Yea and unfortunately I hate to tell you but it's only going to go slower! I felt that the journey to 12 weeks was the longest of my life! But it's all worth it when you get there and can tell people :-) I had a scan at 7 weeks really just saw a little lump with a tiny heartbeat but it was great to have the reassurance. Then when you get to 12 you'll get the full 'actual baby' view!

SparkleUK · 02/01/2020 10:26

Congratulations 🎊!

Unfortunately, until you get a bit further along, it definitely does seem to drag because you're just waiting for anything to happen, movement or appointment wise. It does get better though, things start to fly over and once you start feeling movements it's so exciting 😊. Try not to be anxious in this time (easier said than done!) as it's one of the most life changing things that's completely out of our hands!

I had an early scan between 6 and 7 weeks (pic attached). I went with a very full bladder so they could see with the probe rather than an internal. It was reassuring for me to see him and I got dated a few days ahead which was confirmed at the NHS scan.
I think we told one parent each once we had the early scan but everyone else after the 12 week scan x

Thank you so much for all of your replies
And congratulations to you all
I'm so pleased I'm not the only one to feel so anxious!
Only 8 days to go until my scan so I'll continue to pray that everything's going to be ok x

I found the time before I was showing dragged. I just felt fat! I also had IVF so knew about the baby right from moment of conception which made it seem even longer!!

Alderaan · 02/01/2020 10:59

Apparently I'm 39 weeks pregnant. I've no idea how this can be the case when I'm pretty sure I've been pregnant for at least three years...

HelloViroids · 02/01/2020 11:10

Urgh, I feel exactly the same! Am 9+5 today, have had 3 early private scans as there was some confusion about dates and early on they thought it could be ectopic, but I am desperate for my 12 week scan (and don’t even have a date yet!) Will probably have one more private scan beforehand - I know it seems excessive but my last pregnancy I had a MMC discovered by scan at 11 weeks so am very very anxious Sad

2020firsttimemum · 02/01/2020 11:24

We waited until 12 weeks for our scan and I almost didn't want to look in case there was nothing there lol!

I know how you feel! It's a long wait up to the 12 week mark but relax and enjoy it - especially if you don't have many symptoms like I didn't. Avoided all sickness thank god!

Congratulations and enjoy it as much as you can x

Melbs6 · 02/01/2020 11:55

I’m the same! I’m 6+2 today and have an early scan in 6 days. I can’t wait, I’m hoping it will make it all feel a lot more real because I haven’t got my first midwife appointment until I’m 8 weeks. I just want to know our little bean is doing okay in there ❤️

toomuchteaandcake · 02/01/2020 12:31

Alderaan 🤣🤣🤣 I feel you and I'm only 14!

handsinthebucket · 02/01/2020 14:03

I'm 10+3 and I agree it goes so slowly! Countdown to the 12 week scan is on (11 days to go)! Congratulations everyone Flowers

GaaaaarlicBread · 02/01/2020 14:07

I’m almost 6 weeks and due to some medication issues I’ve booked a private scan for 13th jan and already got one booked for 25th jan . Just to break up the anxiety before 12 weeks . I’m super anxious too and thought I was being silly ! So you’ve made me feel better !
I found out at 3 weeks+ 4 I think, and it’s dragging soooooo bad . I can’t stop feeling to see if my boobs still hurt lol

Not told anyone family wise other than my sister as I wanted her support x

kylieeee · 02/01/2020 15:02

Here here! I'm 6+3 and know this full well but it doesn't stop me checking my apps about 5 times a day just to check a day hasn't gone by in 12 seconds 😂 I'd like to get an early scan too just for some reassurance as it's our first baby but I don't know how much you can really tell so I'm not sure whether to just try and be patientBlush

GaaaaarlicBread · 02/01/2020 15:24

@kylieeee have you noticed a change in symptoms ? My boobs don’t seem as sore today and it’s worrying me 😓 I’d recommend an early scan if you think it’ll help. I can’t wait for mine !

Zm2019 · 02/01/2020 15:39

@lodex hey, I am same as you. 6 weeks today.
We have told our immediate family and our 6 year old as she can be a little handsy, we have asked them to keep quiet till after our scan or at least till I tell work. Thankfully my 6 year old is good at keeping secrets.
I am so eager to tell my best mate time doesn't seem to go at all Haha.

First midwife appointment in 12 days.
Do you have much symptoms I didnt think I had any, till my husband starts reeling them off. I am very tired and restless. The odd little cramp, apparently my mood swings are up and down. And omg I wee alot.

zeeeex · 02/01/2020 15:57

I am 10 weeks + 3, had a private scan on NYE and couldn't believe how clear the scan was, and heard a very clear heartbeat which was amazing!

Babyg1995 · 02/01/2020 18:35

I was the same I found out so early at 6 weeks the got a scan at around 8 weeks as I was spotting it dragged in from weeks 6 to 16 for me I'm now 27 weeks and it's going really quick now this is baby no 3 and has felt like the longest pregnancy out them all the last month drags In for most women .

MummyToUnluckyBaby · 02/01/2020 18:40

Congratulations!
Don’t worry, it’s only natural to worry, and baby will be here before you know it!
I told my parents and in-laws at 12 weeks.

Nics23 · 02/01/2020 20:43

I’m 8 weeks and feel the same!! I feel like we’ve known for so long and still can’t tell anyone 🙈 I had a scan at 7+3 and saw a little bean with a heartbeat, but it still doesn’t feel real!

kylieeee · 02/01/2020 22:06

@itsemily I wouldn't worry, enjoy the days where they don't hurt! Mine stopped for a few days but came back with a vengeance😂 make sure you post a pic of your scan! Xx

latheritup · 02/01/2020 22:15

Congratulations! Here's my daughter at 7 weeks.

Wait until you get to the last trimester, I'm now 33 weeks and ready to get this baby out!

I told my parents the day I found out about 4 weeks for support and in laws at the end of the week x

MaisieMolly · 03/01/2020 11:27

I’m the same. I’m about 9 weeks and it’s going so slowly. I just want to get to the 12 week scan! I have had no real symptoms either which doesn’t help with the worry. Hopefully being back at work will make things go quicker!
