I’m currently 10 weeks and 3 days.
I started spotting at 5 weeks- only pinkish/purple blood and only when I wiped. I have had scans after each spotting episode at 5, 7 and 10 weeks. The first two scans they could only see a cyst on my ovary, no cause for the bleeding. At my 10 week scan, they saw an area of blood (not near the baby) but said it could be caused my the placenta forming, and that this could either be absorbed or expelled and to expect spotting. They said it’s common, and congratulated us on our pregnancy. At our last scan it wiggled it’s arm and was perfect. This was last Friday.

Today I started spotting again..I guess I panicked because this actually went onto a pantyliner, a few watery drops. Same as before, no cramps, and it’s stopped now. My partner who is a worrier, told me to relax because the midwife told me this could happen as there was blood in my womb.

Has anyone experienced this? I’ve bled heavier at 5/7 weeks and baby was absolutely fine but it doesn’t stop the worry. My other two pregnancies weren’t like this at all. I worry I’ll bleed throughout.

I should just relax shouldn’t I? Any tips on getting to 12 weeks without being a nervous wreck? Thank you

Hi yes please try to relax easier said than done I know I am 22 weeks pregnant and I have had intermittent spotting all the way through and baby is perfectly healthy, some women this just happens to it is perfectly normal obviously unless it is red blood and a lot of it. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. X

Thank you Ele38! I guess it’s just because we are told, blood is bad. Then you get pregnant and some ladies have spotting! I’m exhausted with the worry..but I will try not to. Thank you xx
