I'm now 3 stone heavier than I was when I had my other DC and wondering if this means a bigger baby.
Everything about birth weight online talks about subsequent baby's being bigger, baby being a similar weight to your own birth weight or GD and things.
My DC were smallish at 6lb 9oz, 5lb 13oz and 6lb 11oz and Iv got it in my head I'm going to have a giant baby this time Confused
Somebody tell me this isn't the case Grin

I honestly don't think so, personally. id say, similar birth weights to what you have. unl;ess your health has changed to go with weight gain.

I was 9 n half stone beginning of this pregnancy, im 36+3 and always had big babies. this baby is already estimated at 7lb 2oz according to yesterdays scan! my others were 9lb 3oz, 4lb 14 oz (he stopped growing) then 8lb 4 and 9lb 11. MY weights have differed each pregnancy and ive always had big babies. so my waffle aside, no I don't think youll have a big baby cos your a bit heavier.

I was asked my own birthweight at my booking appt with DC1 as they were doing a tidy to look for correlation between your own and your DC.

In my case there is. DC1 was 6lb 10, DC2 was 6lb 5 and I was also 6lb 5. My brother was 5lb 9 but was a little early.

Well that makes me feel much better. I was 6lb 1oz so my dc weren't far off my birth weight. No health issues just that iv gone from 8-9 stone to 12 stone in 4 years which is obviously quite a lot!
There's not any info out there about this at all.

Obviously meant doing a study not doing a tidy!

Not sure if the study ever showed anything.

DS1 was 7lb12oz and DS2 was 6lb4oz- which is what I weighed at birth.

I was probably three stone heavier this time around than when I had DS1. I'm overweight, but have no other health issues when pregnant and make surprisingly small babies for my size.
