Heart beat = 150bpm. Does that mean a girl??

Hiya

This is just for fun! We had an 11 week reassurance scan and heard the heartbeat for the first time!

The sonographer said it was about 150bpm and one theory is that that means it is a girl!

Does anyone have any similar experiences or even experiences to the contrary?

We are happy either way but just curious!

Ours was 152 .... most definitely a boy on his sex and subsequent scans!

It’s an old wives tail, but can still be fun! Based on Nub, Ramzi, heartbeat and Chinese Gender prediction this little one should be a girl 😂🙈

I'm having a boy and his heart rate has varied throughout between 130 - 160 usually between 150-159

My girls have been higher than that, 160bpm

Most of the old wives tales put me as having a girl...I had a boy!

I had a girl and at that time she was higher than that - around 162. She dropped to 150 around 6m and to 140 in the last months of the pregnancy.

It worked out that way for me but I think it had more to do with their temperaments - DD (hyper, never calm) had a high heart rate, DS (very laid back) slower.

Oops just read my report, it was 160 not 150!

Either way we are happy! Know these are just old wives tales but it’s all fun :)

My daughters hb was always under 140 which according to the theory should have made her a boy.

My teen boy and toddler girl were both over 150
This baby boy has ranged from 140 to 200 ( was checked all OK)

Pretty sure I read that that theory was completely de-bunked.

The baby’s rate rate will go up and down throughout the day anyway as they have periods of sleep and activity. So someone else might have a baby with a 130 bpm heart rate because that baby is sleeping. 5 mins later they might have 160 and yours might be 130.

It's all rubbish.

BUT!

I firmly believed I was having a boy for the vast majority of my pregnancy. Most of the theories pointed towards a girl. High bump, ring swing, love of sweet things, morning sickness, no pregnancy bloom, high fetal heart rate, Holly Willoughby. Only the Chinese calendar said boy. Turned out baby was indeed a girl.

It's still all rubbish though. But it was so much fun to conjecture about at the time. Grin

We went for a private scan at 16 weeks so we could take the dc with us to see baby.

The lady doing the scan sexed the baby using the heartbeat. It was very strange.

We where quite unsure as to how accurate she was but the but 20 weeks scan confirmed she was right. we waited until the 20 week scan because we weren't 100% she didn't just guess
But of course it was 50/50 So she had good odds of being right😂

Mine was almost 150bpm at every appointment... 3 week old DS.
