Ok. My friend is 37 and after adopting two children as she was told she couldn't have babies, she is pregnant!
The docs say she is 10 weeks but she looks and feels more like 14/16 to me.
Anyway, yesterday, she had a lot of pain low down and went up to A&E. The doc felt her belly and agreed with what I said about being further along but as she had not had any bleeding, she could wait to be scanned till tomorrow.
I think that the pain was stretching of the uterus in light of her being more advanced.

So tomorrow, I am going to the scan with her as her partner can't make it.
She is very worried that everything won't be ok because she is 37 and the problems she had previously and because of these pains.
I know it will be fine but told her I will ask you guys to send even more vibes her way!
Thanks all!

Xx

I was told the same message Ladyof theflowers and have been so very lucky to be blessed with a little one ( due Sept)so I am sending her lots of positive vibes. Here you go:+++++++++++++++++++++++

Good luck to her!

I've heard of several women finally becoming pregnant after adoption (and loads after IVF). Weird but wonderful.

Paranoid1stTimer · 27/08/2007 15:53

My mum was told she'd never have kids then me and my bro came along in quick succession when she was 40 and 43!!! That was back in the 70's as well when everything was much less relaxed and informed as it is now. Also, my sis in law is 36 and she is about 27 weeks pregnant with twins. They say twins are more common if you're over 35 so you never know.

Good luck to your friend and you. Sending positive vibes through the cosmos...

I was told by one dr to that the only solution to my ongoing infertility was to " take my tubes out and start IVF" glad I ignored him and went for acupuncture instead !! do let us know how your freind goes. It's good to hear all these positive stories coming through.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 28/08/2007 20:36

Thanks for all your well wishes, they are much appreciated.

Unfortunately, as soon as the sonographer got an image up on the screen, I could see it wasn't right.
There was no heartbeat and the babe still looked like a little bean.
She was 12 weeks today but the scan confirmed the baby had died at 8 weeks.

It was truly awful and we were sobbing away.

Her children were waiting outside, chomping at the bit to see the scan picture.

She does not think her partner will want to try again as he has 2 sons from a previous relationship aged 3 and 1 but she really, really wants to try again.

It would appear her partner is being very 'matter of fact' about it too.
