Heart pounding when I stand up or walk around

I’m around 7 weeks and for the last week or so, every time I try to stand up or walk around my heart starts hammering in my chest and I feel so dizzy and weak and it makes my morning sickness (more like all day sickness) 10x worse, and I need to lie down.

Does anyone have any idea what may cause this? I’m really struggling to do literally anything.

I am at the doctors this evening but sadly they aren't usually very helpful and shrug it off or send you away without much of an answer :(.

If anyone has had similar and knows a possible cause I would feel better asking my doctor if I can be checked over for certain things.

I had palpations after my first but it has flared up now I am pregnant. I have been up to hospital twice and the ecg shows nothing but it's apparently common in pregnancy where there is a lot more blood pumping around the body.

Not a nice thing to feel and hard to ignore.

Have you checked your blood pressure? I'm not a doctor so obviously can't be sure but I have very low BP and it's uncomfortable like you describe, especially when eg getting out of the bath. You can get one if those proper medical ones off amazon for about 15 quid, I'm checking my BP with it often. And I've read that if your BP is high, that's dangerous for pre eclampsia so might as well check either way xx

Ps if you do have low BP, it's easy to relieve, with lots of extra water esp warm salty broths. But check first obviously

I had that 2 or 3 times in the first trimester and I actually thought I was going to die or the baby was.... I turned to Google for advice and found it was quite a common pregnancy problem. I think it's a temporary lack of oxygen to the brain or low BP but at my mw appointments BP has always been normal. I remember it being really scary although not harmful. Try eating a salty snack.

I had this due to anemia. Make sure they get you checked for it, I'm on a lot of iron tablets for it and things have improved. Also water water water I seriously underestimated how much you need to drink.

Very likely anaemia. My most prominent symptom was my heart pounding out my chest! Ask for a quick blood test as easily resolved with iron tablets if it is Smile
