Hello, I found out last night I'm pregnant! ☺️ I have estimated I'm about 4 weeks but obviously need the doc to confirm. As it's still very early days, I'm terrified to do anything, all I want to do is lie on the sofa and not move. Is this normal or is anxiety getting the best of me?

Hi Fiona congratulations Flowers
I have also just found out I am pregnant on Saturday; around 3+5 weeks according to my Flo app. First point of call is to call the GP tomorrow but anything else I’m a bit clueless; I have lots of anxieties especially around when to tell work, friends and family! Also having some cramping on and off. Partner took it as a massive shock as the pregnancy wasn’t planned however is coming around to the idea of being a dad

fioney25 · 29/12/2019 18:03

Hi @Gingerlockssss and thanks for replying to me. Firstly, congratulations too ☺️ Lovely to know I'm not on my own. Yes that's my first job tomorrow. I have the same anxieties, feel super paranoid trying to keep it under wraps especially with NYE approaching.
Oh that's good to hear even when planned I think the shock takes over.
Do you have many symptoms/side effects at the moment?

Thank you ☺️ I know tell me about it! the NYE nerves are in full swing.. I don’t know how to get about it, I have to attend a party as it’s a close friends birthday as well. Maybe a little white lie about being on anti-biotics or doing dry jan might work?
No major symptoms yet, I keep having hot flushes but I do have a cold so it could be a side effect of that. Other than some cramps, which freak me out at time to time there’s nothing else. Im sure my time will come. How are you feeling? Any symptoms? X

fioney25 · 29/12/2019 19:17

I'm 100% using 'Dry Jan' excuse for next month, I'd probably tell the white lie or simply use that you have a cold and don't feel up for drinking?
The same, just a few cramps here and there and I'm super bloated, it's like I've eaten all the Christmas food over and over again! Have you spoken to your doctor?? xx

Congratulations :) when you ring your gp ask how you go about getting a midwife as you don't actually need to see a gp they won't confirm the pregnancy for you they just take your word for it. They will either refer you to a midwife for your booking app which will be between 9/10 weeks or they may have community midwives based at the surgery :) it's probally anxiety making you feel that way but remember baby is very very tiny and you can still do everything you usually do. Don't confine yourself to the sofa or not doing things as trust me you will be needing to relax and do that later on anyway once you get bigger/further along.
Symptoms for me only kicked in around 9 weeks but before that I had really sore boobs (didn't relate it to pregnancy at the time as its never been a symptom of mine previousally) x

Hi ladies! Congratulations on your BFP 🙌🏼. I found out I was pregnant on Christmas Eve, what a Xmas present eh?! 5 weeks today, going by my last period ☺️
I've had a pretty strange couple of weeks, I've been spotting for 10 day's, had 2 days of what I thought was AF but then got a BFP after. Heavy bleeding stopped and I've been spotting really pale pink since, some days it's brown. Took another test today and still says pregnant. I also feel awful, lower back aches, heartburn! Just rubbish in general lol
Going to call the docs tomorrow about the spotting, as it's concerning me now.

SparkleUK · 29/12/2019 19:54

Congratulations everyone who's just found out. 32+4 here and can still remember how amazing it is!

As easier said than done as it is, try and enjoy the moment and go about doing what you usually do, sometimes with slight adjustments depending on how you feel 😊

fioney25 · 29/12/2019 19:57

@Boymummy3 Thank you! ☺️ Ah I didn't realise that, just assumed the doctor would have to tell you your pregnant to make it like 10000% official 😄 I'm so naive! I'll make sure it's the first thing I ask about. You're right it probably is anxiety, and I'm still very overwhelmed at moment 😅
How many weeks are you now?! 😀 Hope everything's going well? x

@xxchlobo90xx Congratulations yo you too! 😀 What a lovely Christmas present 🥰 I've read that pale pink/brown spotting bleeding can be implantation bleeding and everything is okay but of course if you're concerned then definitely speak to your GP as they are the experts and will put your mind at ease 😘 x

Hi all,
I found out I was pregnant yesterday. 4 weeks! It has taken me by surprise because even though I have been TTC I wasn’t expecting it to happen so quickly. I am very happy though. This is my fourth baby so you would think I would be relaxed about it all but I am still an anxious mess lol.

Boymummy3 · 29/12/2019 20:12

@fioney25 they use to confirm it years ago but they havnt for a while because they say shop bought tests are just as reliable as gp tests. Im 36 weeks now and totally over pregnancy lol

HannyLove · 30/12/2019 08:25

Hi, I just got my first BFP 2 days ago, it is such a weird feeling!
I've been feeling super anxious and had every possible thought going around in my head - you are definitely not alone! Xx

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 30/12/2019 08:30

Congrats! I found out a few days ago, my first pregnancy too. Was totally shell-shocked and have no idea what I'm doing 😂. I'm happy though! No symptoms yet apart from sore boobs, I'm really hoping I don't get bad morning sickness.

Laurasaurus · 30/12/2019 09:30

Mee too I found out at 6am this morning :) and have my doctors appointment Friday :)

fioney25 · 02/01/2020 14:36

Congratulations to you all on your pregnancies ☺️ I'm eagerly waiting for a midwife to call me to book a scan. I think this is worse than the TWW 🙈
Cramping/twinges seem to have gone and I don't have any symptoms at the moment. I guess that's a good thing - I'm 4 +4 according to an app 😬 How's everyone else?? xx

Hellooo! Could I please joinGrin

I got my BFP on the 17th Dec, best Xmas present ever! app calculates I'm about 6 weeks now. Got my first docs apt next week and can't wait to have some confirmation that I'm actually growing a human! Although non stop nausea, tiredness and sore boobs give me the impression the tests were correct! Congrats all xx

Beck2277 · 02/01/2020 15:24

They dont normally do anything to confirm, just book a midwife appointment which is just form filling! Confirmation is with an early scan or 12 week one!

zeeeex · 02/01/2020 15:50

Congratulations to you all! I found out on NYE I am pregnant - managed to get a private scan that same day and they reckon I'm about 10 weeks + 3 (I had come off the pill in October so wasn't too concerned about period being so late).
I find myself feeling so anxious / over thinking everything!! What will friends, family work say? Financially will we be okay? Will I have a tough pregnancy? LABOUR!! 😂
This is my first too and I am age 25!

X

fioney25 · 02/01/2020 19:32

@kylieeee Congrats!! So exciting! Hope your appt goes okay! Xx

@zeeeex Congrats too!! Are you booked in for your 12 week scan? I share all the anxieties that you have 😩 My biggest one is making sure everything is okay! 🙈 I'm hoping over time these thoughts will pass and not manifest my brain 😆 xx
