I'm 26 weeks and have been quite constipated and now seem to have piles 😫 is this something I'll need to see the GP for? Or are there any home remedies I can do to help? My GP is useless so hoping I can get away with not going! Any advise please!!!

Constipation - fybogel and lactulose are safe in pregnancy and available from the pharmacy. Also make sure you are well hydrated. Increase your fibre. Prunes also help!

Piles - bane of my life! (27 weeks). Natural products are using witch hazel, warm water and wrapped ice packs. I’ve heard Sudocrem being used too but I haven’t tried that. You can also use anusol and germaloid products. When you poo, cleaning after using moist tissue or baby wipes is preferable, or cleaning with warm water. If it’s popped out, popping it back in may reduce discomfort and aid healing.

I've ended up with a large pile following bad constipation. I had to see the nurse who advised putting it back in, however it's worth having it looked at to make sure it's not thrombosed.

Get to the GP for some suppositories. Mine were ok again after 3 days / 3 doses of suppositories.

Flat, warm Diet Coke helped me with my constipation

I was constipated around the same time as you, I spoke to my midwife and she recommended drinking a normal mug sized cup of prune juice in the morning to loosen things up. Worked a treat for me normal regularity after the second day. I have been lucky to avoid piles so far though.
