Perineal massage

Anyone have experience of doing perineal massage? Did it work? What oil did you use? Thanks x

I bought the 'down below oil's from boots for 16.99 used two drops of it and spilt the whole bottle on my bed! Can imagine how annoyed I was so I googled alternatives, can use olive oil and vegetable oil as that's a free option x

Did it - still had small tear that needed a few stitches

Though I was never sure I was doing it right!!

I’m still in early pregnancy so not at this stage yet but have heard from friends they’ve slept overnight in a pad soaked with olive oil which has helped soften it apparently. A much cheaper alternative than a lot of others!

@Annafs does it work? I've never thought about doing that as I thought the idea was the stretch the area open and not just soften?
