Hi Guys

38 weeks pregnant and have had a terribly upset stomach today. Woken up and have pains at the top of my legs and the urge to go to the toilet (diarrhoea - sorry TMI) but when I go to the lo, nothing. It’s like I’m constipated.

FTM and everyone says, you just know but completely worried that I just won’t know (naive is sure!).

Thanks in anticipation!

I have heard getting an upset stomach can be a sign labour is due, but I get an daily upset tummy these days and strong BH/period type pains do seem to accompany it and I haven't gone in to labour as a result :( I am only 36 weeks though!

Always a good idea if you think it is a possibility to get some rest though :)

BFPhopeful2019 · 29/12/2019 03:26

It’s so hard being pregnant isn’t it? Starting to get some sharp pains around my public bone area so think it might be starting...this scares me! Haha I know there’s only one way this ends but still! Haha

I’m going to try and sleep a little and see how things are in the morning. It’s probably BH and I’m getting over excited!

I’m so confused. Not sure what is going on. Some pain (but only lasting 30 secs to a minute and very low down (so like extreme lightening crotch or at the bottom of bump), coming every 5-8 mins or so.
I have IBS so struggling as I’m used to quite bad cramps.

Worst nights sleep ever!

I had a slow labour over 3 days. It started like yours for about 12 hours then ramped you. Good luck!

Jomum2020 · 29/12/2019 07:23

I don’t have anything useful to say but im excited for you!!!! Keeps us updated.
Wishing you a happy healthy birth!

I’m sure the hospital etc suggest a nice bath to help with the pains at the start? And you can take paracetamol.

jammiedodgersss · 29/12/2019 07:24

This is exactly how my labour started , good luck x

stormy11 · 29/12/2019 07:42

Good luck op.
Following with interest as I'm 36+ weeks.
Wishing you a happy and safe arrival of your baby. Thanks

BFPhopeful2019 · 29/12/2019 08:28

Thanks all. I’m so unsure as what is going on. I thought that pain would be more in my bump rather than the bottom or severe lightening crotch 😂. Managing to doze slightly for a few minutes which is good.

GiveHerHellFromUs · 29/12/2019 08:34

Oh no it's in your crotch and is going to get much worse. Like the worst period pains you've ever imagined x10000000. So worth it though!

Tink2007 · 29/12/2019 09:16

@GiveHerHellFromUs Probably not the best thing to say to someone going into labour tbf.

GiveHerHellFromUs · 29/12/2019 09:17

Oh yeah all feels like sunshine and rainbows.

rainbowstardrops · 29/12/2019 09:37

I thought you were supposed to instinctively know when you're in labour too but I didn't realise straight away ..... even though I'd had a 'show' that morning!
I had a really upset stomach and pains in my back so didn't put two and two together and didn't go to the hospital until later that evening. I was 5cm dilated by then!

BFPhopeful2019 · 29/12/2019 10:49

I’m hoping for a rainbows and sunshine labour but think that’s me being ridiculous 😂

I have no idea. Relatively regular pains though so presume I am. Feel very nauseous

@BFPhopeful2019 - good luck! Sounds like you’re on your way to having your bubba.

CFlemingSmith · 29/12/2019 11:28

Hate to say it but I had an upset stomach and strong cramps from around 36 weeks onwards. Kept getting excited as always told they were signs something was happening.
Induced at 42 weeks so clearly not

BFPhopeful2019 · 29/12/2019 11:35

😂😂 that’ll bring just my luck too! Still not sure and not convinced. Have had a few mini meltdowns with pain but following advice and coping better now.

GiveHerHellFromUs · 29/12/2019 11:58

@BFPhopeful2019 just remember as soon as you're admitted to hospital you can have pain relief and you will feel like sunshine and rainbows then Wink

Lazydaisydaydream · 29/12/2019 12:04

I went in to be induced and when I got there and they monitored me they said I was already in labour and had I not realised? I didn't think That contractions would feel like that so hasn't made the connection Blush so no I don't think you always know Grin

stormy11 · 29/12/2019 13:55

How are you feeling now? The the cramps got stronger?

BFPhopeful2019 · 29/12/2019 14:51

Stronger. I’ve called triage and been told to stay put for now. Been quite ill and a bit worried as have a pain in my lower left leg. Counting down the minutes until I can take more paracetamol.

OP posts:
GiveHerHellFromUs · 29/12/2019 16:06

I know it's not nice OP but every contraction is a step closer to meeting baby. You've got this!

Jomum2020 · 29/12/2019 17:22

Been thinking of you today OP. You’ll have that babe in your arms in now time!!

twoturtledove · 29/12/2019 18:01

You can do this OP Smile

stormy11 · 29/12/2019 18:58

Best of luck op.

BFPhopeful2019 · 30/12/2019 12:37
