Miscarriage

So I had a miscarriage 23/12/19 and yesterday 27/12/19 I had to go back in as cramps and pain were still bad. She did an internal check and there were a bit of placenta and sac left so she took them out. I had to sign a form ...
anyways today 28/12/19 pain is getting better but I am taking codeine but the bleeding isn't slowing down.

How long do you wait for it to slow down as I'm still filling a pad every 2.5/3hrs?

I'm struggling physically and emotionally but have to brave it as I have a 6yr old and my two step kids have come to stay for 5days. My bf doesn't understand how I am feeling and has just told me to get on with it.

I feel totally lost and on my own right now :( x

Bleeding is normal for anything up to 2-3 weeks after miscarriage, so you might have a little while of it yet. It also depends on how far along you were. Sorry for your loss Flowers

I was 9/10weeks :(

My boyfriend just thinks I should 'man up' and get in with it. He says I didn't lose a baby, it was just cells

No offence but your boyfriend sounds like utter trash. He should be nothing but supportive and he is literally acting the opposite.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I have no idea how long you should bleed for - I just didn't want to read and ditch.

I would get checked out if you are still filling pads. There could be something still stuck which your body is trying to flush out with blood. Phone the hospital. Sorry for your loss.

@mummyb201303 there is no harm in calling the hospital for advice.

Your boyfriend sounds really nasty.

Where do I phone ? 111? The cramping is not bad but the bleeding is still a lot :(

I would call the EPAU (or wherever you saw the doctor on 27th). I'm sorry this has happened Flowers. As others have said, your boyfriend is behaving terribly. Do you have any other family or friends you can lean on?

I’m so sorry for your loss. I am going through the same thing. I started bleeding on the 25th and spent most of the night in the hospital. My dr said I had a “normal” ultrasound because there was a fetal pole and sac, but they couldn’t see a heart beat yet. They thought my dates were off and I was really 6 weeks and three days, but I knew I was supposed to be nine weeks. Today I started bleeding heavily (I soaked through a pad and my pants in an hour) and I’ve lost six large clots (about the size of the palm of my hand) the rest have been about the size of a quarter. I haven’t been seen since my er visit, but from my understanding, you will probably bleed for about two-three weeks. It should lessen though.

I had a miscarriage in March this year at 6 weeks. I bled heavily passing clots etc for 2 weeks. I didn't get terrible pain (I'd had worse periods) but the blood was significantly more.

I'm sorry you're going through this and I echo other posters that your boyfriend sounds like an absolute asshole.

I'm sorry for your loss :(
Your boyfriend should be supportive, a loss is a loss however far along!

I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks In June this year and bled for around 2 weeks.

You need support at a time like this, try and stay strong but also let it all out when you need too! X

Igotthemheavyboobs · 29/12/2019 20:40

No advice but didn't want to read and run. Sending over Flowers that really sucks and I hope the bleedy subsides soon x
