I am 38 weeks pregnant, I have been having contractions for over 30 hours now and I have only dilated to 1 cm, the pains are strong but only 4 minutes apart, my body is killing, I am exhausted as I have not slept in 2 days, can I demand to be induced to help me, this is my first baby.

Well you can't be induced if your already in labour can you? Have you called your hospital and told them what's happening?

You can have a drug that will speed up your contractions yes. I had it when I was in labour though I was dummy dilated by then. Ting your antenatal unit to find out. The advice will be specific for you then rather than generalised anecdotes which is all you will get here.

I had slow labour like this OP, they can hook you up to hormone to speed things along. Its the same hormone as induction. Good luck xx
