Bleeding at 6 weeks

Hi everyone not usually one to post on these things but I feel so lost and really don't know where else to turn. I would love to hear your experiences if you have anything similar.
On the 22 of December I was 6 weeks pregnant and had some very very light bleeding then the 23 it got a bit heavier but still not too heavy I went to the doctors that night and got three referrals to get my hcg levels tested over 6 days and another one for an ultrasound, the next day (Christmas Eve) I got my ultrasound done and everything looked perfect and got my blood done but didn't have anything to compare it with yet.
On Christmas Day the bleeding was heavier again but still not enough to fill a pad or anything like that but I started to get cramps so we went to the hospital I explained to the doctors what had happened and they didn't seemed to worried (which I didn't understand) and took some blood and saw my hcg levels where good and have gone up 2000 from the day before and sent me home, then when I got home I passed what I think was tissue, I went back to the doctor the next day to tell him and he didn't seem worried either and said we'll do another blood test and sent me home and said from all you results you're looking positive.
I'm so beyond worried and I just don't understand why the doctors don't seem to be. Does this sound positive to anyone? Because for me I'm worried as heck!
Thanks in advance for any help or support! xx

Hi there, Sorry to hear about your worries. I'm in a similar boat with cramping and bleeding at around 5-6 weeks but I haven't seen anyone yet as I only just took a test.

I have had a previous miscarriage though and one Daughter. Don't want to get your hopes up as I can't say anything for sure but it does sound positive if you had the scan and it was fine after first bleeding etc. When i had my miscarriage I had a scan at 6 weeks after cramping and they coukd see already development was behind and my hormone levels weren't climbing normally either. Then I bled very heavily for over aweek. Fingers crossed for u

Hi - experiencing a similar thing to you from my last period date I should be 7 weeks tomorrow. Got home last night from work and had brown spotting - not heavy and no pain just when I wiped. Stressed all night called the out of hours this morning who had a doctor call me back she told me to wear a pad to measure how much I'm bleeding and booked me in to see a doctor who I've just been and seen. All he did was feel my stomach a bit explain what an ectopic pregnancy was but as I have no pain its likely a threatened miscarriage and to rest for a few days and it could turn out ok he even said 80% of threatened miscarriages turn out ok... Like with your doctors he didn't seem that bothered and if I bled more to call my local hospital for a scan! Luckily the bleeding seems to have pretty much stopped and nothing on the pad the bit concerning me is I've lost my nausea and my boobs don't feel as sore! From what you have said if scans and blood tests are positive it sounds hopeful. I have a private scan next sunday so if the bleeding doesn't get worse I will just wait until then as the doctors seem to either view it as a minor issue or just believe they can't do much. Just so hard not to worry during these early days!

Hi, I started spotting on Monday when I was 5 weeks. They also took bloods and did a scan the following day. Bloods are OK and they saw sac on scan, they said too early to see anything else. They booked me in for another scan in a couple of weeks time. I am anxious as I had a MMC in my first pregnancy. Fingers crossed xxx

Foxd0g · 28/12/2019 19:39

I spotted for a week between 5 and 6 weeks and was convinced something was wrong! He's now 16 weeks and everything seems to be going ok so far. It doesn't necessarily mean anything's wrong and can be really common.

As long as you're not bleeding heavily or similarly to a period and you're not experiencing very painful cramps, chances are you'll be fine. Just keep an eye on things as you have been doing and good luck Thanks

drubio · 28/12/2019 22:40

Thanks @Foxd0g. I'm glad it turned out okay for you. I'm trying to remain positive, no cramping just the spotting. Xx

Bojangles33 · 28/12/2019 22:53

If HCG levels are good try not to worry. I had some pretty big bleeds at 6 and 8 weeks but was fine after that.

Kaylavalentine · 29/12/2019 22:39

Such a nervous time, thinking of all of you. Let me know how everything goes! I got my hcg levels back over 3 days and they had double so I’m hoping for the best @Mrstravolta29 @Charchar19 @drubio

Sounds fine to me - I had similar bleeding and cramps in 2007. The 12 year old result is snoring away upstairs 🤩

Congratulations 🌟

Charchar19 · 30/12/2019 06:54

@Kaylavalentine all sounds very positive then! Do you have a scan planned soon? My spotting literally stopped when I got back from doctors and hasn't started again so feeling positive.

drubio · 02/01/2020 12:39

How are you getting on ladies? I have a dilemma.

My NHS scan is on Tuesday, that's 5.5 days to go. I am still spotting and had a bit of bleeding on Tuesday. Went to EPU and they sent me home and told me to relax.

I am toying with the idea of getting a private scan, I am so anxious today and I just need to know if things are progressing or not. It is so har after having had a mc.

Charchar19 · 02/01/2020 17:11

@drubio I haven't had anymore spotting luckily but more stomach cramps than usual so still stressing. I have a private scan sunday and it feels forever away then my booking appointment with the midwife next friday. How are you feeling today? In reality tuesday isn't far away but I know how hard it is trying to convince yourself that when so stressed.

drubio · 02/01/2020 18:43

@Charchar19 I am more anxious than anything. I even phoned Tommy's and spoke with a midwife. I decided to wait until my 7 week scan on Tuesday and hope the spotting stops.

I hope your scan this Sunday goes really well, let me know how you get on xxx

LynzP85 · 02/01/2020 22:35

Hi all,

I'm in a similar situation, getting a scan tomorrow mor I g after a week of on/off bleeding and passing two very small clots (2cms max)

I believe I am 6weeks today so mindful I will need both and internal and external examination.

Desperate for an answer so I'll share tomorrow. Fingers crossed to all of you, sending positive vibes.

drubio · 02/01/2020 23:00

@Kaylavalentine how did you get your epu to do a set of three hcg tests? Mine won't do a second one, I got the second while we were on holiday so it is from a different hospital.

I asked for a second test and they said no, your initial levels were good enough.

Kaylavalentine · 02/01/2020 23:52

@drubio I did 4, I didn’t even ask they just kept giving them to me when I said I was still bleeding. That’s so ridiculous they won’t do more than one, I would insist. My bleeding only just stopped yesterday and my levels are still rising. Have an other scan on Monday. I was soooo sure I was having a miscarriage but everything seems to be progressing so try to stay positive

Hi ladies, just a quick update from me - looks like I've had an early miscarriage.

Nothing to be seen on the internal and external exam so I had bloods taken this morning and need to go back on Sunday at 11 for more just to be certain.

I'm not sure what to make of it all to be honest - still processing. I hope all of you get the successful outcomes you all deserve xx

Kaylavalentine · 03/01/2020 19:58

@LynzP85 aww I’m so sorry to hear that. Sending so much love your way xxx

Hi @LynzP85 I’m sorry to hear this. I’m a clear blue test 1-2 weeks but been bleeding lightly for 8 days now so I’m really worried, Will keep my eye out for clots like you said. So sorry xxx

drubio · 03/01/2020 21:51

@LynzP85 so sorry about your news. Sending lots of strength and kindness your way xx

Charchar19 · 05/01/2020 12:51

Just been for my private scan - they did an internal scan and all is good dates match exactly, heart beat was seen and got to take a photo home. However they did find quite a big cyst on my left ovary but no bleeding so said it should be ok left but may be causing some additional pain so assuming my spotting and pain has been related to that. Hope everyone else is getting on ok x

drubio · 05/01/2020 13:21

@Charchar19 I'm so pleased to hear all is well! I'm hardly spotting and nausea has come back. Fingers crossed I get good news on Tuesday!

Kaylavalentine · 05/01/2020 20:37
