Still waiting for midwife referral

I found out I was pregnant a few weeks back now, would have been quite early around the 4 week mark, I think I’m probably between 6-7 weeks now.

As soon as I found out I contacted my GP who sent off a midwife referral form, but I haven’t heard a thing.

This is my first pregnancy so I’m not sure how long this usually takes, but I suffer with anxiety and I’m so worried something is going to go wrong. How long was this process for you all?

I’m also a little confused as I get different due dates/ how many weeks I am depending on if I use my last period date or the conception date 🤦🏼‍♀️ My cycles are usually around 25 days so slightly shorter than normal so maybe this is why.

Silly question but have you tried ringing them?

I have tried calling my GP who were a little useless and just said the referral had been sent but didn’t seem to have a time scale, and I can’t seem to find a number to contact the midwife at the hospital myself 😭

I know at another hospital close to me I can self refer, so I’m considering doing that even though it’s a little more awkward to get to as it is in the city centre. I’m just getting so impatient and I’m such a worrier 😂

In my area booking appointments are between 9-10 weeks. I had mine on 3rd Dec and was referred almost a month before that. I only got the letter a few days before too.

Booking in is usually around the 10 week mark. If you haven't heard anything by 8/9 weeks try giving them a call again.

Take your dates from last period mot conception that's what the midwives will work off until your Dating scan which will give your EDD that they'll use for the rest of the pregnancy

I had my booking appointment last week, at around 8 weeks. My anxiety was increasing too, as I hadn't heard anything but in my area, they call you with a day or two notice for the booking appointment.

Everything I've read suggests that the booking appointments aren't completed until 8-10 weeks, so hopefully not too much longer to wait 😊

Congratulations on your little bundle

I had my booking appointment at 10 weeks, and received the letter a week prior to it. I guess also because of festivities you haven't received anything but I'm sure you will in the New Year.
