Hi ladies,

After a long wait (I found out I was pregnant at 10dpo!), we FINALLY have our 12 week scan tomorrow morning! Yay 😀

I am SO anxious though. We had a private scan at 7 + 5 and saw the heartbeat and everything looked good, however I am now terrified again that I’m going to get to tomorrow’s scan and either the baby has stopped growing or they think it’s at high risk of having one of the syndromes that they test for.

How common is a MMC? And how likely is it to have something wrong with it at the screening?

Someone reassure me please, I’m getting myself in such an anxious state 😢 Did anyone else feel like that? Xx

Oh lovely, it’s easier said than done I know, but please relax.

I had hyperemesis and from 5-12 weeks I was living solely on a drip in hospital so I was utterly convinced there was so way my baby would survive, and I remember sobbing as I walked into the scan room as I had convinced myself it was all bad... my 1 year old is now sound asleep on my chest, so everything was fine.

Watch a movie, listen to some music, distract yourself and just relax x

It's totally normal to feel this way. Fortunately the odds are in your favour that all will be ok. Good luck OP and congratulations
