Second Trimester Bleeding with clots

Hi everyone, so I had abdominal and back pain which started in week 16. Thought it was normal so didnt go to the hospital until week 17 as the cramping (more like contractions as it would come and go) had gone worse and I felt like I was gonna give birth. They found that I had UTI and gave me some antibiotics to take for 5 days. After two days of the hospital visit, I woke up around 1am and when I wiped, saw some blood on the tissue. We rushed to A&E and had blood work and ultrasound. Baby was fine, and blood work came back with infection, they said it could be due to the UTI.

couple of days later, I sneezed and there was heavy bleeding with huge clots. Spotting continued, with another episode of clots and bleeding. Went back to hospital, they checked and everything was fine. Cerivix was long and closed, baby was fine with normal heartbeat.

I am now 20+3 but I'm still spotting. No more heavy bleeding with clots. They couldnt find anything wrong and couldnt explain the bleeding. But my Dr. Said the first time when I had the cramps, she saw that my cervix was inflamed.

Anyone experienced same situation and went on to have a healthy pregnancy?

Have they scanned you? I have no experience Of bleeding but it’s not right and shouldn’t be accepting by the med professionals. Ask for a scan to check where placenta is. Wishing you well OP xx

@soulstirring thank you for replying. Yes I have done 3 scans within the past 3 weeks and they have said everything is fine. My placenta is way above my cervix so no placenta previa.

Great news no PV. Wishing you an uneventful rest of pregnancy!

That sounds terrifying. So glad the baby is doing well. Take it easy

I bled on and off during both my pregnancies, baby was always fine when I had scans. Was told cervical erosion. I went full term with both babies.

Thank you all for your lovely messages.
My first pregnancy was very normal, no complications whatsoever. That was 8 years ago. Last year I lost my daughter at 30 weeks, no complications as well. Her heart just stopped beating all of a sudden.
So now I'm paranoid about everything.
All our Christmas trips have been cancelled as I needed to be on full bed rest.

So sorry to hear you lost your daughter.
Bed rest sounds like the best thing for you
