I'm 36 weeks pregnant and going through a particularly clumsy stage of pregnancy although even prior to pregnancy I could be a bit clumsy. I was just at a friends house meeting her newborn and I knocked over some champagne glasses which nearly missed the baby. My friend was very understanding but I'm feeling really down about it. I feel like it's destroyed my confidence a bit and made me feel like, how am I going to raise my own baby without doing something clumsy and hurting him. Can anyone relate and does anyone have any tips on how to overcome lifetime clumsiness?

Hmmm.. I’ll be honest, with the exhaustion from a newborn, it’ll probably get worse 🙈 Don’t worry, you’ll instinctively be cautious around your own bambino! Maybe have a think about basic changes, like not having hot drinks on knock able over surfaces, pop them up high if you can. We use our fireplace! But you aren’t a new mum until you’ve dropped some pasta on your sleeping newborns head and then panic it’s a weird lump 😂 and things like not leaving baby on the edge of the couch/bed..

Please don’t worry so much, accidents happen. I slipped down the stairs carrying my 6 week old, I tumbled from top to bottom. But only hurt myself, she was fine, I instinctively protected her! Knocking glasses over is normal, I do it all the time!
