Heartbeat but small for dates

Just been for a second scan. I went in at 5weeks because I had spotting. They measured me 5+3 which was right with when I know I ovulated. This means I should be 7+3 today. The sonographer did it abdominally first and said she could see a flicker but wasnt sure if it was a blood vessel so then tried internal. Saw the heartbeat but measured 6 +6. Bit worried about it. Anybody else had this?

That's close enough to not worry. It really is. The 12 week scan is much more accurate for dating. I've always been dated at least a week out even though I know the exact date I ovulated. Remember that ovulation isn't the same as the date you conceived.

@georgialondon thanks for replying. Hopefully you're right. The sonographer did seem very young. She said I had a tilted womb one minute and then decided I didn't. There was an awful
Lot of digging about. I'm actually very sore now

That's technically only 4 days which is nothing this early tbh... Measurements can be out this early as they don't have alot to actually measure. Your dating scan will be more accurate as pp said. I had a scan at 9 weeks exactly. My dating scan was booked for 12+4 when I went I was 13+1 I'm now 35+1 so as you can see them early scans are not 100% aslong as heartbeat been seen etc then I wouldn't worry x

I wouldn't worry. Mine is similar to yours. Went in for a scan at 7 but baby was measuring 6+4, had a private scan at 9+4 but baby was measuring 9+0. From that scan had my dating scan expecting my dates to be 11+3, but baby measured 11+2. So all in all the dates I thought I was at the very beginning was out by around 7 days In total. Currently 15 weeks and baby is perfectly healthy at the moment and moving like mad :)

Thanks for reassurance ladies. I've remembered now with my daughter 6 years ago that they moved my due date a few times. I think I just wasn't as aware then ( thanks internet) do didn't worry as much
