Obstetrics appointment, day before due date - why?

I am currently 19 weeks pregnant and have just received a letter out of the blue for an appointment at Ante-Natal and Gynaecologoy, for the day before my due date, next May.

This is my 2nd pregnancy, I am low risk (BMI was 27.5 at booking). DD was born at 37+4 so I doubt I'll even make it to 39+6 weeks this time. I can't get hold of my midwife (have left a message), my GP has no record of the referral and I can't get through to Obstetrics either.

Does anyone know why I would be referred?

I did have an appointment at gynae last year before I was pregnant due to 2 failed smears (cervical ectropian) but I can't think that that would be a reason for a referral now (especially as they managed a succesful smear at gynae which came back all clear.)

Anyone had this?

is there any reason, such as your age, that would mean they won't let you go overdue?

I got through to obstetrics in the end who confirmed it's my 40 week appointment which was booked by my midwife apparently. They didn't know why she booked it with them rather than just a normal midwife appointment so I'll ask her in the new year. I will be 35 so no reason not to go overdue.
